00:00 My name's Alan, I've been painting for a number of years now, but I paint big pictures as well as

00:06 miniatures, my specialities, miniature painting. Over the years I've put more and more work into

00:15 my miniatures, there's 2,000 brushworks in a six by four and a half inch area, and this

00:21 indicates why I'm a member of the Royal Midget Society in London and the Hilliard Society,

00:27 these are both international miniature societies, and this is my most prominent achievement,

00:34 is in basically my miniatures, although I do tend to be quite popular in my larger works.

00:39 My miniatures start with a pencil sketch on paper, sketched in by pencil, then the sky is applied,

00:49 then the background washes, and then the foreground detail is then put on,

00:56 the amount of work involved in my miniatures is just as much, or if not more, than the last picture.
