Aired (February 4, 2024): While on his coffee and food adventure at SGD Coffee, Dustin Yu has a taste of adobo made with Sagada coffee!

00:02 our friend and Black Rider teen actor, Dustin Yu,

00:06 is enjoying the flavors of Sagada

00:09 right in the heart of Metro Manila.

00:35 We didn't start as a store,

00:37 we actually started as a farm.

00:39 So we started in Sagada farming our coffee

00:43 and we started from scratch.

00:45 We actually worked with a farmer,

00:48 then turned into a few farmers,

00:50 and then we planted coffees,

00:52 and then we harvested, processed,

00:56 and then roasted our own coffee.

00:58 When we were happy and satisfied about

01:01 the coffees that we started to plant,

01:05 then we started the shop.

01:07 One of the things that we've somehow committed to

01:11 is that SGD Coffee will not own its own farm.

01:14 What we wanted to do is work with a community of coffee

01:19 and have them hand it down to the next generation.

01:23 The second thing is that you will get cultural coffee.

01:26 So cultural coffee is what the community drinks.

01:29 So that's what we're trying to give you,

01:31 an experience of how it is drinking Sagada coffee

01:35 according to Sagada.

01:37 And as a coffee lover himself,

01:40 Dustin really enjoyed his visit to the SGD Coffee Bodega.

01:45 Here at SGD Coffee, we have Itag,

01:48 which is a traditional Sagada ham.

01:50 We interpreted it in a very familiar pasta dish.

01:56 So we do an Itag Carbonara.

01:58 Let's try it.

02:00 I put just one piece of meat and there's a lot of carbonara.

02:04 The meat tastes amazing.

02:06 Perfect.

02:15 So you have a cup of Sagada coffee,

02:25 when they talk about Sagada coffee.
