00:00 Congratulations, you already won a Grammy today!
00:02 I did, yeah, thank you, thanks.
00:04 What was your reaction when they called your name?
00:06 I was very, very happily surprised and so excited and so happy to be there and celebrate
00:13 the music and this movie.
00:15 What was it like collaborating with Christopher Nolan and doing the music for Oppenheimer?
00:20 It's incredible, I mean this is our second film together and just the sheer, you know,
00:27 the sheer time and interest that Chris Nolan puts into the music and how close we collaborate
00:36 with each other and how much time he puts into that collaboration and his curiosity
00:41 for different production techniques, different songwriting techniques, the structures and
00:46 it's such a, you can tell that he is very interested in it.
00:54 You're also nominated for an Oscar this year, how are you feeling going into the Oscars?
00:59 Man, I'm a little nervous but just excited to be fortunate enough to be among this incredible
01:08 group of nominees and you know, just sitting here at the Grammys so far, just seeing all
01:12 these incredible musicians and artists and songwriters and being part of that community
01:16 is very special.
01:19 Like you said, so many amazing nominees this year, who's one that you were listening to
01:22 on repeat this past year?
01:25 This past year, I mean I loved SZA's album, I was listening a lot to that.
01:31 Just the journey she tells, it's very cinematic and also when Kill Bill came out, that song,
01:36 how it was just, oh my god, what is this?
01:39 You're trying to put it, first thing you try to do is put it in a pocket, right?
01:42 It's this, this is all the music, this is all the music but it was just such a, you
01:46 couldn't do that and I love that when music surprises you and you don't really know where
01:51 it is so you have to use your imagination so that was one of the highlights.
