The two men heading a campaign to get the Crooked House Pub rebuilt, speak six months on, ahead of an event tommorow to mark the six months.

00:00 So gents we're just down here at the site of the old famous crooked house

00:04 six months old, can you believe it's six months?

00:07 It has isn't it?

00:09 Where are we at with it then gents?

00:12 I mean you know some people might be thinking well it's six months

00:15 so there ain't nothing happening and that means it ain't never going to be built

00:19 and that, is that the case? What's the deal?

00:21 We're tied by the waiting for the legal case really

00:25 we've got a legal case that's going on

00:27 nothing much can happen until that's completed

00:30 we knew right from the start that this was going to be a long wait

00:34 while we waited for things to happen

00:36 there are some people getting a little bit sort of tired of waiting

00:40 but six months is a very short time

00:43 the Carlton Tavern in London took six years before that was rebuilt

00:47 and that went through a similar sort of process

00:50 so we're just waiting for things to happen

00:53 and we're just trying to keep things in the public eye in between now and then

00:56 and in terms of the legal case I don't suppose there's any police

01:00 they don't particularly say oh yeah it should be this length of time, that length of time

01:04 it doesn't work like that does it?

01:05 They've given us no indication as to exactly what's happening in terms of that

01:09 that's a very closed book and obviously we don't expect them to start telling us stuff

01:14 or broadcasting things

01:16 we get one shot at the legal element of it

01:22 so I don't blame them for keeping the cards close to the chest

01:25 so the hope is that there will be a forced rebuild

01:29 that's kind of the hope is it?

01:31 is that where we're pinning all our hopes?

01:33 That's not a hope, that is the ultimate aim

01:36 there's no hope in this, that's what we're fighting for

01:38 that's what we're all battling for

01:41 the group and the community, that's what we want

01:45 and tomorrow, special event marking the six months

01:48 what's happening tomorrow?

01:50 tomorrow we're asking people to put memory tags on a virtual tree that we've got

01:56 they can either write out their tags or we could have printed them in advance

02:02 and we'll be putting them on the virtual tree for people to look at

02:06 people to gather, people to have a chat about their memories and their feelings about the crooked house

02:11 there'll be some refreshments, some hot and cold drinks and some snacks

02:19 no, definitely no beer

02:21 and then we've got somebody who's going to be doing some videos of people

02:26 and somebody else is going to be handing out postcards of his artwork

02:30 which has been working hard on the last few weeks

02:33 and that'll be all gathering up just by the main road and the sign there won't it?
