A winner of hit BBC reality show the Traitors has revealed she recently had forehead reduction surgery - and now feels "more confident than ever".

Meryl Williams, 27, is still in recovery after having the procedure two weeks ago.

She says she went under the knife as her forehead size had always been a "big insecurity".

The surgery, which can cost upwards of £5k, involves bringing the hairline lower down the forehead.

00:00 Come with us, get my forehead reduction surgery.
00:03 It's always been a big insecurity of mine, my forehead.
00:11 It's been something that I've been bothered about since a young age.
00:15 And I had a full fringe from the age of like five.
00:18 So I've always knew I had a big forehead, but I just didn't think
00:21 there was ever going to be anything that could ever help it.
00:23 And then I seen a girl that had the surgery
00:26 and I just started thinking about it more and more.
00:29 You know, when you start thinking about something, you notice something even more.
00:32 And then I thought of something that I'm really conscious about,
00:35 really self-conscious about, and it's something that I can fix.
00:38 Because obviously, with my condition, there's a big common sign of
00:42 dwarfism is a bigger forehead with achondroplasia.
00:45 But some people don't always have that, but I just did.
00:47 And it's something that I've just been bothered by.
00:50 But I obviously embraced my condition, but it's something that I didn't really like.
00:54 So I had a consultation and I did wait about eight months,
00:57 and then I decided to go for it.
00:59 And then I booked the surgery date and then I got it.
01:01 So the surgery was really quite straightforward.
01:03 Like it wasn't any complications.
01:05 So what he basically done was he cut along the hairline
01:08 and just pulled the hair down.
01:10 And there were parts of like I had extra skin, so he removed the extra skin.
01:14 That was something I bothered about.
01:15 And and then it was a bone shaving aspect as well.
01:19 But it was quite a straightforward process, procedure.
01:21 It was about two hours long, the surgery.
01:24 In regards to my surgeon, I was the first person he's ever done with dwarfism.
01:28 And then I have done a lot of research.
01:30 Again, there might be someone that's had it, that's just not publicized it.
01:32 But from my knowledge, I'm the first person.
01:35 Like I was like the guinea pig at the sit.
01:37 So I'm like, see if it works or not.
01:39 If you put yourself out there on social media, you always get opinions from other people.
01:42 And I did have negative comments and sense in my forehead.
01:45 But it's never been something that I've let affect me and affect my decision.
01:49 It's always been something I've always knew.
01:51 So they weren't telling me anything I didn't know.
01:52 But yeah, it's no regrets. I'm really happy.
01:54 I mean, maybe the day after when I was in pain,
01:56 I was thinking, why did I do this?
01:58 But just for a bit, just because I've not got high pain thresholds.
02:02 So I do. I'm quite traumatic.
02:03 Well, I quit my job back in December.
02:10 I worked at H&M Customer Service.
02:12 And then after the show and after I won that money, I quit.
02:16 And I was like, you know what, I'm going to use this money
02:18 and I'm going to just not go to work because I wasn't really that happy at my job.
02:21 And I was working a nine to five, you know, Monday to Friday.
02:27 And then now I've quit my job and now I'm doing like it's completely changed my life.
02:30 I definitely think, especially the end result, like the money from the show
02:35 is definitely giving me that stepping stone to then do that.
02:37 I think I would have struggled if I didn't get the outcome I got at the end,
02:40 and which I'm forever grateful for.
02:43 I even know I was clueless the whole way through.
02:45 But but yeah, it's completely changed my life.
02:48 It's definitely opened a lot of doors.
02:50 I've been able to do jobs I didn't think I'd ever be able to do.
02:54 And it's even the sense that it's broadened my horizon
02:58 in regards to what I can actually achieve than before.
03:02 And I think as well, especially on the show that's so well known,
03:05 and it gives you a better stepping stone to do things.
03:08 So, yeah, it's completely changed my life.
03:10 I'm so happy I was on it.
03:11 So, yeah, I tried to get on the next season.
03:13 They told me no.
03:14 It is.
