00:00 Today, the government insisted it is listening.
00:02 Throughout Europe, our farmers are facing a crisis.
00:08 One that also concerns our neighbours.
00:11 How can we keep our farmers going when the red tape keeps piling up and holding them back
00:17 and sometimes makes them lose sight of the value of their work?
00:20 Is there a future for our farming sector?
00:26 Of course, the answer is yes.
00:29 And since 2017, we've been taking action to show that.
00:33 Our reporter Carys Garland is covering the farmers' protest today.
00:39 And she's been speaking to farmers at one of those roadblocks outside of Paris
00:43 to get their reaction to what the Prime Minister had to say.
00:46 They got out the TV, they listened to Gabriella Tell and the other ministers speak,
00:52 during which many had knitted brows and others complete poker faces.
00:57 Others, though, simply walked away after a few minutes.
00:59 It's very difficult to listen.
01:01 It's very noisy.
01:02 There's still lots of motorists honking their horns nearby.
01:05 But in the end, unions are saying, look, this is very general and a little bit cloudy.
01:12 There are lots of measures that were announced and they want clearer, more precise,
01:18 clearer and actually more clearer measures that they can really understand.
01:24 And until they really study, people are a bit hesitant to say, OK, this is enough.
01:29 In fact, we heard from that main union, the FNSEA, say at the moment, there's no,
01:35 it's not a question to lift these blockades that are on the highways around Paris.
01:41 So for now, farmers are very much ready to stay here.
01:44 The barbecue is still going, the fire is still going, the beer is still flowing.
01:49 So for the moment, we're staying here.
01:52 The union is giving an official response though.
