Harriet and William Hogge left their corporate jobs to launch The Inhaler Tailor, a York-based business hand-making cases for medical inhalers after watching their close friends struggle to get their young daughter to use her inhaler. One viral TikTok video and 10,000 sales later, they are working with pharmacies to increase their customer base and also have their sights set on international expansion.

00:00 I'm Will, founder of The Inhaler Taylor.
00:03 And I'm Harriet, his wife.
00:05 And business partner.
00:07 As of recently.
00:08 I've had to carry one of these for years.
00:10 And I've got a couple of daughters and some of their friends have to carry them as well.
00:15 And they all just absolutely hated using their inhaler.
00:17 They didn't want to carry it with them.
00:19 They didn't want to take it to school.
00:20 They didn't want to use it because it just felt too medical.
00:22 So a couple of years ago I invented a range of cases to go over the inhaler
00:27 just to make them feel more comfortable carrying and using their inhaler.
00:31 At the moment we've got cases for four different types of inhalers.
00:35 So the standard Ventolin style.
00:37 This is the Turbohaler or the twisty style.
00:40 The shorter one.
00:42 And also we've just launched Easy Breathe.
00:44 But we've got more in the pipeline as well.
00:46 So Easy Halers coming within the next couple of weeks.
00:48 There are 36 designs at the moment.
00:51 But we launch new designs constantly and seasonal designs.
00:54 So we have six designs at Christmas as well.
00:56 So lots of different ones for both kids and for adults as well.
01:00 About 50% of our sales are to adults actually, not just children.
01:04 So some of the best adults, well actually one of the best sellers is the Ducks, rubber ducks one.
01:09 You'd think that that was more for children but adults love this one as well.
01:13 And we've got loads of designs like leopard print.
01:17 Lots of really cool chic designs as well.
01:20 So just tell us how easy it is to put these covers on.
01:23 Really, really easy to put them on.
01:25 They just slide into the case like this.
01:27 Then you stretch this silicone mouthpiece cap holder over the mouthpiece.
01:31 And then A) they look amazing now.
01:33 B) when you take the mouthpiece cap off it stays inside the holder so you can't lose it.
01:37 And C) they all come with an eyelet so you can attach them to key rings, bags and lanyards etc.
01:43 They can get them through inhalertailor.com, the website.
01:47 They're all available online.
01:48 A lot across the UK but we've sold to Australia, America, Asia, the Middle East.
01:53 Literally I think every continent has ordered a few inhaler cases for sure.
01:57 Unbelievably good feedback.
01:59 So we've got over a thousand reviews now.
02:01 And over 98% of them are 5 stars.
02:04 So the reviews are amazing.
02:06 People saying that they've had to use an inhaler for years, they've never liked using it.
02:09 And now they feel quite happy and confident when they take it out of their pocket.
02:14 So yeah, it's been amazing.
02:16 And the feedback from professionals is really good as well.
02:19 So nurses that we've spoken to, respiratory nurses, paediatricians, they are very positive.
02:24 They've also said that they can't wait for when we launch the cases for spacers.
02:28 So for children they do use the inhalers with a spacer.
02:32 And we're going to have covers for the spacers coming in the next couple of weeks as well.
