Live from the scene of major police incident in Upperthorpe
Transcript
00:00Good morning Sheffield, it's Alistair from the Sheffield Star and I'm speaking to you from the shops outside of Upper Fork Road
00:05by the junction of Wartory Street where it appears last night there was some sort of very serious incident
00:09which we're still learning about at the moment. What I can tell you in the meantime is that there are at least eight police vehicles here
00:14and at least a dozen officers who are standing guard over what appears to be a white Mercedes that's inside of the cordon.
00:20There appears to be a sheet over it which I would suggest is more just to keep the rain out of it
00:24but I don't want to speculate on that in the meantime. I can't tell you very much about this in the meantime
00:28we're speaking to South Yorkshire Police, we were alerted this incident by a resident
00:32and there's literally hundreds of metres of police tape crisscrossing the scene to shut down the various roads outside of these shops.
00:38Lots of cars coming past trying to make their way to work and school who aren't able to go down this pretty busy thoroughfare normally
00:44and we're learning more about this as it happens. It's a very wet, dark and rainy morning in Sheffield today
00:49some sort of very serious incident here in Netherthorpe and we'll tell you more about it as we get it.
