00:00 Pizza Hut is the latest in a long list of companies now facing a boycott,
00:04 after photos were recently posted on Instagram showing Israeli soldiers with what were indicated
00:09 to be free pizzas provided by the company. A Palestinian news agency then retweeted screenshots
00:14 from the story, which has now expired. So far, Pizza Hut has yet to provide any response,
00:19 nor has it confirmed or denied the validity of the social media post. What is clear is the growing
00:25 outrage and negative sentiment aimed at the ongoing and disproportionate aggressions in Gaza.
00:30 The Gaza Health Ministry reports that the IDF has killed some 26,083 Palestinians so far,
00:36 mostly women and children, with their targets including hospitals, schools and universities.
00:42 And this is just the latest Pizza Hut controversy related to the Israel-Palestine situation.
00:47 Back in 2017, an Israel-based Pizza Hut branch ran an ad mocking imprisoned Palestinians,
00:53 who were enduring a hunger strike, showing them eating pizza in a cell. The ad was eventually
00:58 taken down after advocacy groups initiated a boycott. At the time, Pizza Hut apologized
01:03 and said they had fired the company that created it.
