00:00 Thank you for joining us, viewers, and now back to our guest, Prisa Somboratu.
00:05 And in this CreateUp, we will discuss about upgrade skills through StartUp.
00:11 We are joined by Video Conference with Angga Fausan, CEO of MySkill. How are you, Angga?
00:17 Hello, hello. How are you? I'm good.
00:20 Thank you for joining us, Angga, in CreateUp.
00:23 How do you see the SDM's problem in finding a job?
00:26 What are the problems that they often encounter?
00:29 We see that Indonesia has three major problems.
00:33 First, we see that the curriculum at the university is difficult to update,
00:38 or very long to be able to update with the current industry.
00:40 When we want to create a new curriculum, new course, or new topic, the process will be quite long.
00:45 Second, so far, universities and industries are very rare to get close.
00:52 So, when they have graduated, they face their own work.
00:58 So, they are not so synchronized between the campus and the industry.
01:03 That's why, with the current scheme of the SDM, it should be quite helpful.
01:07 What will be the needs? That's the second.
01:09 Third, in terms of education.
01:11 We see that the campuses in Java and outside Java have very different facilities.
01:15 The number of professors is very different, the material of the course is very different, and so on.
01:19 Therefore, the balance in terms of academic is really needed
01:23 so that the students are more ready to enter the world of work.
01:26 Thank you.
01:27 Okay, so, how far can the obstacles be overcome with upskilling?
01:32 We see that, actually, right now, we can't just rely on the universities and the degree.
01:41 We see that every year, there are hundreds of thousands or millions of people who graduate with their own degrees.
01:46 So, we must be able to beyond.
01:48 Beyond with the latest skills, beyond with the latest portfolio.
01:52 Therefore, in MySkill, our focus is not only to provide certification,
01:56 but also to help them really master the new skills,
01:59 which may not be learned on campus, and also have new portfolio,
02:04 based on the real case studies and the needs of the industry.
02:07 That's what we really want to cater in MySkill.
02:10 Okay, the solution offered by MySkill, maybe you can tell us more about it.
02:16 Yes, so MySkill itself is a startup that focuses on the development of skills and career preparation.
02:23 Basically, we have three main features.
02:26 The first is e-learning.
02:28 So, e-learning is a collection of content, content on skills development in the form of videos,
02:32 reading materials, case studies, tests, and so on,
02:35 where they can learn to develop skills and also make their portfolio.
02:40 So, it's not just based on certification.
02:42 That's the first.
02:43 The second is we have a live bootcamp class.
02:46 When e-learning was self-learning,
02:49 this bootcamp is directly learn live with the mentors that we curate.
02:54 For example, the manager of the most famous e-commerce,
02:56 manager of the most famous startup,
02:58 or the most famous company,
02:59 where they can learn together, for example, for two months, three months, and so on.
03:03 The third, we have mentoring.
03:06 This mentoring is where they can directly talk to HR, one on one,
03:10 for later preparation about their CV, preparation about their interview,
03:14 preparation about their career path,
03:17 so they can get guidance,
03:19 they can get guidance on how their skills are,
03:22 whether they are good enough, whether their CV is capable,
03:25 whether their interview is good enough.
03:27 Thank you.
03:28 Okay, then what kind of training is provided by MySkill?
03:31 We will continue in the next segment, Angga.
03:33 And, Mr. Fisa, stay with us, we will be back soon.
03:37 Thank you for joining us, Mr. Fisa,
03:39 and we are still in talks with Angga Fouzan, CEO of MySkill.
03:42 What kind of training is provided by MySkill, Angga?
03:45 MySkill provides training in both digital and non-digital.
03:50 For example, we want to learn about marketing,
03:53 learn about website development, learn about data analysis,
03:56 for technology or digital.
03:58 Second, we also have non-digital,
04:00 for example, learning English, soft skills, career preparation, and so on.
04:05 Which segment are you most interested in, and where do the mentors come from?
04:10 MySkill is currently focused on aspiring professionals.
04:15 So, our users are usually students, fresh graduates, and young workers in Indonesia,
04:20 aged 18 to 35.
04:23 Now, MySkill has had almost 2 million users in the past year and a half.
04:30 That's the first.
04:31 2 million users?
04:32 Yes, that's right.
04:33 Okay.
04:35 Do you have any experience from your own experience in the world of work?
04:39 What was it like?
04:40 How did you get interested in starting up a startup, EduTech, MySkill?
04:46 Yes, MySkill was formed by two founders,
04:49 who also have the same background.
04:53 I myself, since I was in school,
04:55 from elementary school to high school, I often missed school because of financial difficulties.
04:59 Then, fortunately, I got a scholarship to study at ITB,
05:03 and a scholarship to study in the UK, and so on.
05:06 Then, we could work, we could help our parents,
05:09 we could educate our younger siblings,
05:11 our younger siblings could go to school.
05:12 After that, we thought that,
05:14 since we have the skills and the work,
05:17 we could help our family and our surroundings.
05:20 Therefore, our vision is
05:22 how to create people who can help their surroundings more,
05:27 by having better skills and work.
05:30 Therefore, in MySkill, we focus on skills development and career preparation.
05:33 Thank you.
05:34 Okay. What is the budget range for each class, Angga?
05:38 Yes, we are focused on a very affordable budget,
05:42 because we have a vision to democratize skills development and career preparation.
05:47 For e-learning itself,
05:48 we have a 1-month, 6-month, and 12-month package,
05:52 like Netflix.
05:53 So, you can get access to all the content you learn right away.
05:56 The budget range is between Rp30,000-Rp100,000,
06:00 up to 6 months.
06:01 That's the first thing.
06:02 The second thing is for live class, bootcamp,
06:05 the budget range is between Rp300,000-Rp2,000,000,
06:08 depending on the certification model or training model they choose,
06:11 how long it will take.
06:12 The third thing is related to consultation with HR,
06:15 CV review, and so on.
06:16 It's very affordable.
06:17 The budget range is between Rp15,000-Rp30,000 per consultation.
06:21 Okay. Is there any free one?
06:25 Because most of the time,
06:27 some people feel like,
06:28 "Oh, maybe there are some things I can learn
06:31 through online classes."
06:34 Is there a free one?
06:35 Then, what about the animo for the free and paid classes?
06:39 Yes, we also have a free one.
06:42 We have a program called Short Class.
06:44 So, Short Class is a free class series every month.
06:48 We usually make 10-15 classes on various topics,
06:51 and the participants are between Rp50,000-Rp100,000 per month,
06:55 organically.
06:56 So, we don't need to pay.
06:57 It's really crowded.
06:59 Why is it so?
07:01 To answer the question earlier about who is the mentor or the teacher,
07:04 we do curate who can teach in MySkill.
07:08 For example, they have a minimum working experience of 3-5 years.
07:12 Minimum.
07:13 Second, they come from notable companies
07:15 that have a very wide working world exposure.
07:18 Because we believe that we need skilled people.
07:22 We need people with experience to share their experience,
07:26 to cut the error gap that we had earlier.
07:28 That's what we're providing now.
07:30 Okay. What makes learning in MySkill different from learning on other platforms?
07:35 First, in MySkill, we emphasize the whole journey.
07:41 From the moment they start exploring,
07:43 what they want to learn,
07:44 what field they want to work in,
07:46 we provide them with the e-learning feature earlier.
07:50 Which is, once they access, once they start,
07:52 they can access around 1,000 content materials.
07:55 They can learn marketing, data, Excel, English, and so on.
08:01 The goal is to explore first.
08:03 What field they are interested in.
08:05 When they are interested,
08:06 for example, "Oh, I want to learn about data analysis."
08:10 "Why?" "Because when I learn on my own, I seem to be interested."
08:13 Therefore, they will join the live class, the bootcamp we have.
08:17 There, they will learn for 1 to 3 months intensively.
08:20 Some are in the upper class, some are in the lower class.
08:22 Where they learn right away, they practice right away,
08:25 they make portfolios right away.
08:27 When it's done, we'll connect it to the third feature, which is mentoring.
08:31 They can get a CV review, they can consult with HR, and so on.
08:35 So they can prepare for the world of work directly.
08:38 That's the first.
08:39 We provide a complete journey from start to finish.
08:42 Second, we believe that the content in MySkill is much more than the players in Indonesia.
08:49 The content in MySkill is much more than the similar e-learning providers in Indonesia.
08:54 And second, we are really proven.
08:56 Friends who learn in MySkill,
08:58 without having to pay expensive, without having to pay millions of rupiahs,
09:02 they can really get a job.
09:04 Right now, our users are getting jobs at Unicorn,
09:07 some are getting jobs at big companies, and so on.
09:10 So we see that MySkill really opens up access,
09:13 without having to pay them with very expensive costs.
09:16 Thank you.
09:17 To be able to achieve all of that, of course there are costs.
09:21 Is MySkill already profiting right now,
09:24 or are you still using funding, or what?
09:26 And how many mentors are there in MySkill?
09:30 Yes, since the beginning, since the beginning of MySkill,
09:33 we have been profiting, and then until now.
09:35 And then in 2022, we got funding from East Ventures,
09:40 one of the largest capital venture in Southeast Asia,
09:43 and we focus the funding for growth.
09:47 So, from a fundamental, operational cost,
09:51 we are already covered with our profit.
09:53 That's the first.
09:54 And the second, how we will move forward,
09:57 our current number of mentors is around 100 to 500.
10:00 In the future, we will increase it.
10:02 But without reducing the quality and the curation process that we have.
10:07 Thank you.
10:08 Alright, Angga, it was interesting to talk to you this morning.
10:11 I'm very excited.
10:12 I hope you can continue to spread the benefits of learning and also upskilling,
10:16 so that more students in Indonesia can help the people around them.
10:21 Always be inspiring.
10:23 Good luck to you, Angga, and also to the team, see you again.
10:27 Alright, and we will update the movement of IHSG on this opportunity at Power Breakfast.
10:36 IHSG is expected to strengthen 0.08% or 5 points at 7,233 participants.
10:43 And then the shares that are included in the most transactions
10:47 up to 28 minutes after the opening of session 1,
10:50 that is TPIA, which increased 2.74% with a transaction value of 98.6 million rupiah.
10:59 Our goal is 98.6 billion rupiah,
11:03 which is the largest of TPIA, then BBRI, BBCA, which is moving in the negative territory.
11:09 The IHSG is up to date.
11:19 And it's been 90 minutes, our sponsor accompanies you in Power Breakfast.
11:23 And hopefully our discussion this time can be a reference and super information for you as a caterer.
11:28 I'm Prisa Sompodatus, see you.
