00:00 Hi, I'm Simon Ledger, director and producer of Symphonics Orchestra.
00:04 So tell me what it's all about.
00:05 So Symphonics Orchestra we put together last year and our first show was Symphonic Soundtracks,
00:10 which is what we brought here to this amazing theatre, King's Theatre. I've always wanted to
00:14 put a show on here. I couldn't think of a better show than Soundtracks for this one,
00:18 which features some incredible movie scores, not just John Williams, Star Wars, E.T., Dirty Dancing,
00:25 Titanic, Doctor Who's 60th anniversary, War of the Worlds. And we have a 35-piece orchestra,
00:33 plus guest vocalists, plus original clips from the movies that are shown on the screen,
00:37 plus original graphics from ourselves. And we also have some amazing characters that are going
00:42 to be turning up on the night. Joker Squad, who raise money for children's hospice, they're going
00:46 to be sending characters, so you'll be able to get photos taken with them. It's a beautiful
00:51 theatre to do the show in and I couldn't have thought of a better theatre on the South Coast
00:55 to do it. Hi, I'm Emily. Hi, I'm Kennedy. Oh sorry, no, it's okay, we're part of the amazing
01:00 Joker Squad. Brilliant, and so tell me about your involvement in the show in March. So yeah,
01:06 so hopefully we're going to be here, it's going to be awesome. So we're just going to be here for
01:10 people to take pictures with us, interact with us, the public that have come to see the show,
01:14 so hopefully they enjoy that. How does it feel to be asked to be part of the show?
01:19 Oh amazing, yeah we do love being asked to be a part of things, especially when it's like an
01:24 orchestra as well, it's something different and unusual. So tell me a little bit about
01:29 the Joker Squad and what you guys do and what you've got coming, upcoming, any upcoming events?
01:36 Of course, so yes, so we have a main charity which is Alexander Divine's Children's Hospice
01:42 in Maidenhead, so any event that we go to we raise money for that charity, that's our chosen charity.
01:47 We do events all over the country, just where we get invited, and we have a main one coming up in
01:54 Portsmouth, Comic-Con, which is going to be awesome, we've got our own Star Wars zone,
01:58 people were very happy last year, so hopefully this year will be a bit better.
02:01 So tell me why the King's Theatre? I've been to the King's Theatre for quite a few different shows
02:07 and I've always dreamt of putting a show on here and I thought Symphonic Soundtracks would be the
02:11 perfect first show for us. So when can people come and see it? Come and see Symphonic Soundtracks here
02:16 at the King's Theatre Portsmouth on Sunday 17th March, you can get tickets at www.symphonics.co.uk
