00:33um the subject matter being so dark yeah just about finding subject matter it's so it's um a true
00:41story based around the events of 9 11 uh the september 11 attacks in america um a tiny island
00:48called newfoundland in canada um there's a town called gander which has about 9 000 residents in
00:55total and when all the planes were grounded after the attacks happened 38 planes containing 7 000
01:02people landed in gander newfoundland and basically doubled the population overnight so it's the story
01:07it's a true story of the following five days where these people had to care from these passengers who
01:12were scared and out like displaced and didn't know what was happening with the world and it's about
01:18them coming together regardless of who they were where they came from they just cared for them and
01:23it's such a lovely hopeful story of unity and kind of togetherness yeah and you could wish for
01:31for today it's a story about welcoming people in and showing openness and care isn't it but it's
01:37kind of important isn't it to listen to this story now 100 and i i i recommend everyone coming to see
01:44it because you just leave feeling like a warm feeling saying like i understand this i understand how
01:50important it is and especially today like you said it's just so so essential and in the roles that
01:57you're playing you're seeing it from both sides aren't you you're playing one of the passengers
02:00yes but also one of the residents yeah i'm i get to play because it's such a small cast we all play
02:07multiple roles but i get to play um kevin t who's one of the passengers who um he's a los angeles
02:13businessman he kind of he lands in newfoundland with um his boyfriend kevin jay and they're they're
02:20kind of displaced and kevin jay isn't as happy about it but kevin t kind of comes around and sees
02:25how welcoming these people are and kind of has like a different journey and then uh garth who's
02:31one of the bus drivers he's a bit stubborn he's a bit grumpy he you know he's fighting for his workers
02:36to a bit get a better pay and they're on strike and they're not helping anything but then he's like
02:41no you know what we need to help with these people i'm going to do whatever i can to help
02:45these people and get them all together and it's nice seeing kind of both sides of it and playing
02:48both sides of it as well well and it's a powerful story but it's also fabulous fabulous music isn't it
02:54amazing music it's it's very folk inspired but there's a lot of like really touching ballad moments
03:00and there's there's some really powerful vocalists that we've got in the cast um emma who's playing
03:07um annette and um captain bass and people sings the kind of the the belt number of me in the sky
03:15which is kind of the most worst well-known one you'll hear up there and she hits those notes and
