00:00 We are at Preview Berlin, the emerging art fair, and we are at the booth of Art Embassy Berlin with Chiara Massi.
00:08 And perhaps you can tell us a little bit about the gallery?
00:12 Yes, I'm the director of the Art Embassy, I'm Italian and I'm living now in Italy.
00:18 But we are still active here in Berlin with our curator gallery.
00:24 And we give in the gallery rooms and in the fairs the chance for young curators to cooperate with us.
00:33 And we chose for this Preview Art Fair Tania Inovslovsky, curator of this Preview 2006.
00:44 And I work in Italy and will establish the new Art Embassy platform in Rome, my home city.
00:56 Ah, that's your home city.
00:58 Yes.
00:59 Yeah, beautiful.
01:00 And for PVB, what did you bring? Which artists did you bring?
01:08 We bring three artists. One artist of our gallery program, Jan Bauer, a painter.
01:14 And then two artists that we gained thanks to the work of Tania Inovslovsky, Joachim Seinfeld and Alain Desclercq.
01:25 Perhaps she can tell you something about her concept.
01:30 Yeah, okay.
01:33 The interesting thing about establishing new Art Embassies in other cities is that we can check the artistic situation there
01:46 and choose new artists for our program that lives in these cities and cooperate with our partners,
01:55 colleagues, institutions there and make a sort of research on the new territory, city and enrich our program.
02:13 I don't know whether this is possible or not, but how would you describe the differences between Berlin and Rome, for example, as places for…
02:24 Yes, for young galleries or young artists it's much more easier to start in Berlin because there are low costs for rent ateliers or gallery rooms
02:45 and the German mentality gives young people much more trust and takes them more seriously than in Italy where you find a senior society
03:04 in which young people have much more difficulty to start and to make serious work and the costs are much higher than in Berlin.
03:17 But now, starting in Berlin and proceeding in Rome could be the right way for us to establish an Art Embassy in these two cities.
03:28 The Art Fair here, Preview Berlin, you're happy with it?
03:33 We were very, very happy last year. The atmosphere was really good and I had the feeling that this year it grows much more
03:43 and that young emergency art and young galleries found their place here in Preview.
