00:00So you don't have to do the whole work yourself?
00:03No, it's not about doing the whole work, it's about transparency in the end.
00:10Because the art world is more than what we see.
00:15We see mostly Basel, Friese, Meheim Berlin Art Forum,
00:19but in working on the subject of transparency,
00:24I have seen that there's many more artists in Macedonia,
00:29or in Africa, they're creative people.
00:32And the creativity of these people, of these artists,
00:35is the same than the creativity of Damien Hirst,
00:40or Gerhard Richter, or someone else here in Europe.
00:43It's just that they don't have the social network.
00:46So we have to concentrate on developing countries,
00:51on countries in the East, on China,
00:54to give them a voice in the end.
00:58Yeah.
00:59Is this the future new plan for Artifacts Net?
01:03It's not the future plan.
01:05We, since two or three years, when my partner Artur came in the company,
01:11we decided to go abroad, to go on the ground, to make field work if you want,
01:20not to sit in front of the computer, talk to the people, go out,
01:23and since two years we are traveling throughout the world, trying to make a network.
01:29Yeah.
01:30So you're, as you said, you're traveling a lot, and doing all the art shows,
01:35and that's really not always, yeah, it's a hard job.
01:41How do you recreate, or how do you keep yourself fit for this job?
01:48Yeah, this is a good question. I'm not really fit.
01:51But this comes into play also for the things you do.
01:58If you want to work on a professional basis in the arts,
02:01you have to work on a global scale.
02:03This is, you have to do it.
02:04This is niche market, and so you have to fight jet lags,
02:08you have to fight disorientation, bad food, and you know maybe all this, yes.
02:17And we are learning.
02:21Maybe yoga, or good, biological food, yeah, eco-food, something like that.
02:27Yeah.
02:28Yeah, perhaps something about the ranking of the fairs,
02:31because we are at Artform Berlin.
02:34What is it, perhaps you can identify the five biggest art fairs?
02:42Yeah, it's, this, in terms of this ranking, what we did,
02:50this is in the beta version, yeah.
02:52And to identify the five biggest there, it's very easy.
02:59It's, you start with Basel, and you say Basel again, and you mean Miami.
03:05Yeah.
03:06And then you come to Frise, to Amri Show, Art Cologne, and, did I miss somebody?
03:13Yes.
03:14And Fiat Genaco, this is the great old player.
03:17Yeah.
03:18Yes, and, yeah, we are working on this, and I think this is also important.
03:23I think the whole ranking subject is very important in the art world, because there's a great creation in art.
03:35It's a huge variety in creativity.
03:37And so, how do you start?
03:38Alphabetically, so, with the art fair, we're starting with the A, A, A, A, A, A, A fair,
03:43and stopping with the Z, Z, Z, Z, Z fair, so you have to have a different view on it.
03:50So, you can work with rumors, so you can look at magazines, who is talking the most about some things.
03:56In this case of this, of our ranking, it often works.
04:00Honestly, it's, when the people speak about it, write about it, these artists, or these venues are famous, like the Art Basel.
04:08And so, they are famous in our system, too.
04:10But, when we come down, so, when we come down below Fiat, and below Arco, and this, then, it's a blurb.
04:22This is not really, you can't really figure out where it's where.
04:25And I think there comes the system into, there's a system very strong.
04:29Because nobody really knows who is on an upscale road, who is going which way.
04:34We can look at auction data, sure, but only a very, very, very small fraction of artists, of contemporary artists, is sold on auction.
04:43So, we don't have a real unbiased information.
04:47We can listen to the galleries, we can read what's written, but there's no very dry algorithm.
04:55Algorithm, just measure, and just give you the basic facts, the art facts.
05:02Same question for the artists, the top five artists?
05:06The top five artists is Picasso, Andy Warhol, Sol Levit, Bruce Naumann, and who's the fifth son? Gerhard Richter.
05:20Yeah.
05:21So now people know what to buy?
05:24That doesn't mean what to buy.
05:26This is, this is, this is, you have to watch out with this.
05:30Because the ranking doesn't mean you should buy this.
05:34It just means that these artists gain the highest attention.
05:39That's it.
05:40It doesn't mean anything.
05:41It has nothing to do with money, yeah?
05:43So, if you're interested in this, it's like in the music, or music charts.
05:48I mean, you won't go to the next record shop and buy the top one, if you don't like this music.
05:55Yeah.
05:56So, it's good to know who's doing the mainstream, but in the end you should personally figure out what you want.
06:03Yeah.
06:04them do love.
06:05You want.
06:06You want.
06:07Yep.
06:08That's all I want.
06:09You want.
06:10You want.
06:11You want.
06:12You want.
06:13That's all I want.
06:14Yeah.
06:15Are you going for a trade?
06:16We're not going for something, that's me.
06:19You want.
06:20No.
06:22It's all I want.
06:25Unless I want to.
