00:10 During the incident that happened at 7.45pm on Monday at the 2.8km stretch of Penang Bridge,
00:16 Corporal Mazlan Abdul Rahman, who was passing by the area, jumped into the sea upon hearing
00:21 cries for help from beneath the bridge.
00:24 Mazlan brought the two victims to safety with the help of a boat.
00:27 He also performed CPR on the victims.
00:31 The Malaysian Army praised Mazlan in a Facebook post, saying that the bravery and swift action
00:36 by Mazlan should be emulated by other army personnel.
00:40 Defence Minister Datok Sri Mohamad Khaled Nordin also said Mazlan is a role model for
00:45 everyone especially those in the armed forces.
00:49 Mazlan is attached to the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment.
