00:00 Well, right on the heels of this
00:02 winter storm that we're tracking
00:03 at this very moment we have
00:05 another one here on the way and
00:07 this is going to start to pull
00:09 into the region at Thursday night
00:11 all the way through Saturday.
00:13 And we are talking about a lot of
00:15 real estate here covered in the blue.
00:17 That means there is going to be that
00:19 snow here pushing through a parts of
00:21 the central plains up through the
00:23 Midwest with the heaviest snow being
00:24 right around the Great Lakes and
00:26 that includes Chicago.
00:27 So heads up we are talking about
00:29 a lot of real snow.
00:30 Meanwhile we have a area of snow,
00:32 rain and ice.
00:33 So yes,
00:34 it's just going to be a yucky mess
00:36 out there across Southern Missouri
00:37 up through the Ohio Valley into
00:39 the interior Northeast snow covered
00:41 roads, travel delays,
00:42 and of course you can expect some
00:44 possible power outages and also
00:45 the blizzard potential as well.
00:47 Let's kind of time this out.
00:49 See when the snow arrives now
00:51 between early Thursday into or
00:52 late Thursday into early Friday.
00:54 That snow is going to continue to
00:56 spread here mainly across the
00:58 eastern Nebraska up through Iowa.
00:59 Also going to be moving into the
01:02 Chicago area too as we head into
01:04 early Friday Southern Wisconsin.
01:05 And then between early Friday and late Friday,
01:08 that's when that snow is going to
01:10 continue to advance further east.
01:12 Moving in the areas like Detroit and
01:14 then of course northern Indiana.
01:16 Where we expecting the heaviest snow?
01:18 Well, hey,
01:19 that's set up right around the Great Lakes.
01:21 We're talking northern Illinois,
01:23 Chicago included up through
01:24 most of the Mitten 6 to 10.
01:26 Most of the Mitten 6 to 12 inches with
01:29 your accurate local storm X as high as 24.
01:32 Inches so hey,
01:33 this is going to be very impactful.
01:35 Snow rough travel.
01:36 Hey heads up and maybe if you
01:38 can work from home,
01:39 especially heading into Friday,
01:41 that's probably going to be your best bet.
01:43 We could even still see 3 to 6 inches
01:45 a little bit further West down
01:47 through Iowa and then into Nebraska
01:49 and Kansas too as well.
01:50 So overall we are talking about
01:52 some big snow here and it is going
01:54 to be kind of a triple extreme
01:56 situation here Friday into Friday
01:58 night because with this storm is
02:00 coming passing through,
02:00 we're going to see our first really
02:02 big blast of Arctic air really
02:04 shift in across a lot of the North.
02:06 We are tracking that threat for severe
02:08 weather here across the South as well.
02:10 And well, hey,
02:11 we're going to have that renewed
02:12 flooding risk as we head into the
02:14 Northeast, but like I said, hey,
02:16 that shot of cold air is coming and well,
02:18 hey,
02:18 it's going to be some of the coldest
02:20 air of the season for a few.
02:22 That cold air is going to start
02:24 coming across the northern Plains
02:25 as we head into the beginning of the
02:27 weekend it's going to expand into the
02:28 Midwest and then as we head into the
02:30 end of the weekend will hey you're
02:32 catching up to that big cold air.
02:34 Into the Northeast as well.
