00:00 Well, I mean congrats to Demi nor you know he was very solid from the beginning just played a great match deserved win
00:06 you know I was not on my level, but
00:09 You know it was just one of these days where you didn't feel your best. I guess on the court and your opponent played very well
00:17 That's that's all I can say you know
00:20 Have I think enough time to get myself in the right shape
00:26 For strain open and that's what matters the most at this point. I think I'll be okay to be honest
00:32 But you know it did have a quite an impact you know
00:36 particularly in the forehand and serve but
00:40 Again, I don't want to be spending too much time talking about it and taking away
00:45 credit of the victory from
00:48 Demi nor I mean he was just very solid and as he always is
00:56 To him to Australian team, and you know it is what it is for us. I guess we move on and for me
01:02 With my thoughts in Melbourne. What was the exchange with exchange with the physio? What was the issue over there?
01:09 well, I mean I
01:11 Asked for the medical timeout, but he said that you you know you can't get the medical timeout
01:16 You have you can only get a changeover if is if the injury is
01:22 already existing he explained
01:26 So I didn't understand really what that means
01:29 But he said that I told him that
01:35 Was improving so that's why he didn't think that I should get a medical timeout, and I said it was improving
01:42 Before the match, but then as the match progressed
01:45 Yesterday and also today particularly it was getting worse, so I needed treatment. He didn't want to give me one so
01:52 that's
01:54 That's that's all there's not much more I can say
01:57 Does
02:01 result like this
02:02 Linger for a little while or it goes out of the mind pretty quickly no no not much to be honest. You know I
02:09 knew that
02:11 Probably not going to be at my hundred percent
02:14 Physically emotionally mentally game-wise
02:20 In the opening week of a season neither did I expect that neither did I want that to be honest
02:25 It's it's all a part of the the build-up
02:28 for a straight open you know so that that's where I want to perform at my best and
02:34 so
02:36 Again, you know it's never nice to lose a match of course
02:40 But you know it's it's not really going to stay with me much
02:45 Your debut at the United Cup can you talk a little bit about the event and playing with the others on the team?
02:52 well
02:54 You know this kind of atmosphere is really unique. You know
02:57 Being in a team with both
03:01 men and women tennis players from your country is
03:05 Something you don't get to experience you either playing Davis Cup or Billie Jean Cup for for women
03:11 And so this is probably the only competition where you can experience that you know
03:15 That mix which is an official
03:17 competition where you get points of course and
03:21 And you get you know ranking points for winning a match etc. So it's it's quite interesting. I mean it's
03:27 Nice to be able to represent your country always an honor and to share the locker room with with others
03:36 of course it's
03:39 At the side at the same time a little bit
03:41 You know draining because you don't have your own routines that you normally do on the individual events so that
03:48 Plays a part as well, but you know you don't play
03:52 Many times this kind of event maybe once a year or something I mean for me
03:56 It's the first time, but I did enjoy it. You know I think it was a really good cool atmosphere, and we you know
04:02 Had fun, and you know that's in the end of the day those kind of memories stay with you
04:08 Stay with you forever
04:11 Never again from the West what's your plans now between now and the Australian Open
04:17 Well, we're just trying to recover first of all
04:20 you know with with the wrist and everything that I've been struggling with last couple of days and
04:26 yeah, just following the the routine of
04:30 Recovery and training and building the form for strain open
04:38 The process is not strange to me. It's not
04:41 Unusual I've been in this kind of situation so many times
04:46 And I know what I need to do along with my team to get myself ready of course
04:50 You never know what can happen. I mean last
04:53 Two or three two years. I've been injured
04:57 Just before Australian Open and managed to win both Australian Opens, and you know sorry less
05:04 Two out of three years so in 21 and 23
05:08 So I hope that I will not be injured this time around you know
05:13 That's that's what we're gonna work on to get my body in the right shape optimal state
05:19 So that I can perform at the high level throughout the hopefully entire strain open
05:24 And you touched on Devin or before and you played him at the last Australian Open
05:29 What have you noticed in his game in terms of the improvement over the past year well?
05:33 I mean look he's one of the quickest players on the on the tour. He takes the ball early
05:38 He's comfortable to come to the net and he's you know basically using his serve well. He's a very all-around player and
05:44 great competitor a great fighter
05:47 And he's going to make you work very hard. You know
05:51 You're not gonna get easy easy wins or easy points
05:58 Yeah, he was trying to take the ball early tonight and be aggressive and every short ball. You know tried to really
06:06 Challenge me, and he did it. He did it well. It was consistent and played a good match
