00:00 The Malaysian Immigration Department of Johor has successfully passed three fraud syndicates
00:06 related to the renewal of the employment permit through the 2.0 employment recalibration program
00:13 and the flying passport.
00:16 The OPS CERCAP in the operation in isolation around Johor this December
00:21 was succeeded by the Unit for Investigation and Operation Activities
00:25 of the National Government of the Malaysian Immigration Department of Johor.
00:30 This operation is the result of investigation and monitoring after receiving a complaint from the public
00:36 about the activities of foreigners who infiltrated the syndicate.
00:41 The first OPS CERCAP related to the flying passport in Iskandar Puteri was passed on 3 December last year
00:48 where it managed to detain a local woman and a Chinese man
00:54 with 5 Chinese passports and cash worth RM12,100.
01:01 The local woman was considered to be a middleman in this syndicate.
01:06 Both suspects were charged under Section 12-1-F,
01:11 Article 166, Article 150
01:15 because without the proper authority,
01:18 the woman did not have any passport or domestic travel documents
01:24 issued for the use of anyone other than herself.
01:29 The second OPS CERCAP was held on 8 December 2023
01:34 where the Jimjohor Gym managed to arrest a couple of foreigners in a flat in Pasir Gudang,
01:42 a couple of men from Bangladesh and a woman from Indonesia
01:49 as part of the syndicate's fraudulent renewal of their employment permits.
01:55 The main target of this syndicate was foreigners,
01:58 who were mostly individuals from Bangladesh
02:03 who had issues with the request for a work permit
02:08 and the registration of the 2.0 recalibration programme.
02:13 Meanwhile, the latest OPS, on 19 December 2023,
02:21 managed to arrest a man from Bangladesh
02:25 who claimed to be the manager of a private company
02:31 aged 26 years in Tampui, Johor.
02:35 The suspect was charged under the syndicate's fraudulent renewal of their employment permits.
02:42 In various ways and modus operandi,
02:45 the syndicate was used to extort profits since early 2023.
02:53 The syndicate's modus operandi was to search and collect passports from house to house.
03:00 The target of this syndicate was foreigners who had issues with the request for a work permit
03:07 and the registration of the 2.0 recalibration programme.
03:12 In this operation, a man from Bangladesh and a man from Myanmar
03:19 were arrested, including three people.
03:24 The suspect was a black Lexus RX.
03:30 The Johor State Immigration Office considered this case to be serious.
03:36 We suspect that there are many more syndicates like this.
03:41 The Johor State Immigration Office will increase the investigation risk,
03:47 including the police, to ensure the safety of Malaysia.
03:54 The Johor State Immigration Office will continue to carry out the operation of the police
03:58 to arrest the party and the employees who are still stubborn.
04:02 The firm action without compromise will be committed against the employees
04:07 and the owners of the premises who still employ foreigners
04:11 without a travel document and a valid pass or permit.
