00:00 Thank you, Mr. Mirsa. You're back with me, Prisa Sompodato and my colleague.
00:03 Yes, Fajar Wayong and Mr. Mirsa, of course, to discuss our interesting topic this time at CreateUp,
00:08 GAPAI, the dream job abroad through startups and is already connected
00:12 through LINE ZOOM with Radityo Susilo Dwiadmojo, Co-Founder and CEO of GAPAI.
00:17 Hello, how are you, Mr. Radit?
00:20 Good news to Mrs. Prisa and Mr. Fajar, how are you?
00:24 Okay, great news too. Thank you for your time this time.
00:28 Okay, GAPAI means a startup that can help to find a job abroad, especially for PMI, right?
00:38 Correct, Mrs. Prisa.
00:40 Okay, can you explain what is behind you creating the GAPAI application?
00:47 Okay, thank you for the opportunity to talk here, Mrs. Prisa and Mr. Fajar.
00:52 So, the GAPAI application is made with a very focused background,
00:57 which is to help Indonesian workers change their lives by working abroad as skilled professionals.
01:04 This is essential because if we realize how big the professional job needs are all over the world,
01:11 considering developed countries or developing countries that are affected by aging populations
01:16 and demographic bonuses in Indonesia,
01:18 we can answer global challenges while helping to change the quality of life of Indonesian workers.
01:24 So, that's the background.
01:26 Okay, but what is the business model of GAPAI?
01:30 It's quite simple, Mr. Fajar.
01:32 So, we have two business models.
01:35 The first is we act as a headhunter for employers abroad and get a success fee per placement.
01:42 And we act as a departure process agent to candidates who want to leave
01:47 to handle all the documentation, starting from passport, visa, checkmate, and so on,
01:51 and get a processing fee from the candidates.
01:54 Those are the two business models that we do.
01:56 Okay, so how does GAPAI take advantage of the opportunities from the demography of Indonesia
02:02 that is quite large, related to the business you run?
02:07 Yes, this question is very interesting, Mrs. Prisa,
02:11 because I think the demography bonus challenge is also a mindset challenge.
02:16 Let's take a comparison.
02:18 If we look at our neighbors in the Philippines,
02:20 13% of their total workforce is working abroad.
02:24 And working abroad is a dream of many professionals there.
02:29 While in Indonesia, only 3% of the workforce is working abroad
02:33 and very few still have a dream of working abroad.
02:38 So the biggest challenge for GAPAI as an industry actor is
02:44 how we can change the mindset of working abroad
02:47 from a short-term solution to get out of the problems they face in Indonesia
02:52 to a long-term solution to significantly change the trajectory of their careers.
02:58 That is the dream and challenge of GAPAI, Mrs. Prisa.
03:04 So far, how many users have used the GAPAI application?
03:08 As I remember, the segment is not too big, right?
03:12 Yes, the segment has an extraordinary potential,
03:16 because we can actually send up to 1-1.5 million with our full potential.
03:23 But now we are still at maybe 500,000 per year.
03:26 Now, GAPAI, at the moment, we've been established for less than a year, since January.
03:32 We acquired 8,000 users, processed 300 users to work abroad in the first year.
03:38 And next year, we have an aim to process 1,400 candidates to work abroad
03:44 with a total of users up to 25,000. So that's the aim.
03:47 Oh, so the total is now 25,000?
03:50 Yes, that's the ongoing process. We are now at 8,000.
03:56 Oh, 8,000 from the beginning to now?
03:59 That's right, Mrs. Prisa.
04:01 When we talk about work abroad, there are usually stigmas,
04:07 such as limited work, or housework.
04:12 Can you describe the GAPAI sector?
04:18 Yes, we can see from the market that GAPAI is clearly managing formal work
04:26 that is recognized and protected by the government.
04:30 So the best sectors that we have now are hospitality.
04:35 So hotel staff, restaurant staff, from waiters, baristas, to chefs,
04:41 many of them use GAPAI to work abroad.
04:45 Other very promising sectors are nurses,
04:49 nursing assistants, who have extraordinary needs.
04:55 Other than that, might be manufacturing and agriculture.
04:59 That's the classification.
05:00 Okay, so how is the cooperation scheme with partners abroad?
05:03 And actually, from a business point of view,
05:05 is GAPAI already benefiting you?
05:07 But we'll discuss it later after the break.
05:09 And the viewers, stay with us on CREATE UP!
05:12 We're back with the viewers on CREATE UP!
05:15 And we'll continue our discussion today.
05:17 Mr. Radit, with the business scheme that was explained earlier,
05:22 how is the profitability of GAPAI?
05:25 Have you noted the profit from year to year?
05:28 Yes, thank you for the question, Mr. Fadjar.
05:33 We're still in the early stage.
05:36 We started in January and we can already book the revenue
05:40 from the application development iteration process.
05:43 So with the existing process, there's a month we're positive,
05:48 but there's another month when we develop, it's still negative.
05:51 But we're on the trajectory to get profitability in the next year.
05:56 The condition is like that.
05:58 But if in total, it starts in January, right?
06:00 So it's not year to year, Mr. Fadjar, it's still January.
06:03 Not year to year, just about to close.
06:05 In terms of accumulation,
06:08 it means you're still trying to make profitability,
06:14 because the startup in the first year is usually not profitable.
06:18 Right, Mr. Radit?
06:19 How is the cooperation scheme with partners abroad?
06:23 So the scheme is long-term fulfillment,
06:29 in the sense of how we can plan their location in Q1.
06:35 So we work with the International Placement Agency
06:38 and also the direct company.
06:40 We work with IKEA, Samsung, and other big companies
06:44 to fulfill the needs of the partners abroad.
06:46 And we also work with Samsung and other big companies
06:50 to fulfill their business long-term.
06:53 Okay.
06:54 So you've already used quite a lot, around 8,000,
06:58 and you've also helped to find jobs for the SMEs.
07:03 So what's your plan to achieve in the next five years?
07:06 This is a very exciting year for us,
07:12 to see quite a big traction in the first year.
07:15 So we're in the horizon phase, Mr. Fajar.
07:17 The first is horizon placement,
07:21 then horizon post-placement,
07:24 after it's been placed,
07:26 and then also back to pre-placement.
07:29 So now we're very focused on placement,
07:31 how to place as many employees abroad.
07:34 Then later in the future,
07:37 we might enter post-placement,
07:38 remittances, reimbursement, money management, re-employment.
07:42 And when we know the market,
07:44 we can also do upskilling and development.
07:46 Okay.
07:47 About funding,
07:49 who has entered the GAPAI application?
07:52 Yes, so for this funding,
07:55 we are preceded by VC and incubator from Singapore,
08:00 Antler, and several angel investors.
08:02 And currently we are fundraising.
08:04 Maybe from the commitment that has entered,
08:08 we can't disclose yet,
08:09 but in the near future,
08:10 maybe we can communicate in this fundraising.
08:14 So it's still a seed, Ms. Prisa.
08:17 Okay, one more thing,
08:18 I'm curious about the challenges.
08:19 There are many challenges,
08:20 if the migrant workers abroad,
08:24 for example, there are obstacles, there are problems,
08:26 is it a challenge for GAPAI?
08:29 And which country has the most locations?
08:32 Yes, so if we talk about the country with the most locations,
08:36 it's the Middle East continent, maybe.
08:38 If formal, maybe in Malaysia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
08:42 If formal, it's Saudi Arabia, Europe, Asia Pacific, Japan, and Korea.
08:46 The interesting challenge is,
08:48 maybe the problem after working there is small.
08:52 So Indonesians tend to be tough and have good work ethic.
08:57 But this is a contract that we usually get for two years.
09:00 So re-employment is a challenge.
09:02 How after two years,
09:04 we can re-implement the potential for career development
09:06 in the same company or another company.
09:08 That's one challenge.
09:09 The second is,
09:10 how they can increase their income from the bonus,
09:14 their income can increase up to six times.
09:17 They can manage it well for the long term.
09:19 So this is a challenge that I think exciting
09:23 for us to be able to break it as a business
09:25 to continue in the future.
09:27 Well, those two challenges,
09:28 Ms. Prisa,
09:30 which we are very passionate about solving in the future.
09:34 Okay, Mr. Radit,
09:35 I have one last question.
09:37 If we want to use or use GAPAI services,
09:40 what should we do?
09:41 Yes, so we have two methods.
09:46 One is through the application,
09:48 by downloading the app store,
09:49 the Play Store,
09:51 to finally find the best job
09:53 based on the recommendation or background from,
09:56 for example, Mr. Fajar.
09:57 Mr. Fajar uploads a CV,
09:58 and then we can give you a recommendation
10:00 which countries, which positions, etc.
10:04 But you can also go directly to our website
10:06 to see the instant interview
10:09 that we can do in the near future
10:10 and apply there.
10:12 Okay.
10:12 So that's the clarity
10:14 from the job and requirements
10:16 that we can see there.
10:17 Okay.
10:18 Hopefully what we discuss here
10:20 can be a reference,
10:22 especially those who are interested in working
10:23 maybe abroad
10:26 or those who have a business related.
10:28 Thank you very much, Mr. Radit.
10:30 See you again.
10:31 Good luck with GAPAI.
10:34 Thank you, Mr. Brista and Mr. Fajar.
10:36 As always.
10:37 Good morning.

10:40 we update the IHSG position.

11:00 Okay, from Top Gainers

11:23 There is ROH, also fell 2.35%.
11:25 And DOOH, fell 2.17%.
11:28 Weaknesses are more dominated
11:30 by energy emissions,
11:31 especially related to
11:33 coal mining.
11:34 From sectoral,
11:35 transportation and logistics
11:36 rose 0.44%.
11:38 Primary consumption rose 0.22%.
11:40 Property and technology fell
