Mexico worshipers flock to giant Virgin of Guadalupe statue

Devotees wearing flower crowns arrive at a monumental statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe, a pilgrimage site near the town of El Ahuehuete, 90 kilometres southwest of Mexico City. They must climb 1,400 steps to reach a viewpoint of the giant statue crafted by Mexican artist Victor Gutierrez. The sculpture is 33 metres tall, 11 metres wide and weighs 110 tons.
