Winter Wonderland welcomes festive feeling tourists and Londoners this Christmas

Winter Wonderland is welcoming thousands of tourists and Londoners this year with many attractions inside, including the UK’s largest outdoor ice rink.

00:00 I'm here at Hyde Park about to head into Winter Wonderland, a much-loved event enjoyed by

00:07 many during London's festive time of year.

00:11 Now visitors heading into the attraction will be able to skate to live music on the Winter

00:15 Wonderland ice rink, which is the largest UK's outdoor rink.

00:19 They'll be able to see circus shows soar into the sky on the iconic giant observation wheel

00:25 and see the twinkling London lights below during the evening.

00:29 As well as nine different roller coasters here at Winter Wonderland, there's also a

00:33 carousel for those feeling a little less adventurous.

00:37 This year Winter Wonderland has the magical Ice Kingdom, which has over 500 tonnes of

00:42 sculptured secret passageways, a snow tunnel, crystal carriage and an ice palace.

00:48 Pretty cool, literally.

00:51 There's also a fun house walkthrough experience with a 300 metre alpine obstacle course and

00:56 illusion rooms as well.

00:59 Not often though, the best thing about Christmas attractions at this time of year is the food

01:04 and drink and Winter Wonderland has one of the largest Christmas markets in London, selling

01:10 lots of festive goods.

01:12 Now Winter Wonderland is a family-friendly event, welcome for children of all ages and

01:17 there's lots of different activities here.

01:19 There's a Santa's Grotto in Santa Land where children can meet Father Christmas and get

01:24 a small gift if they've been good, of course.

01:27 Tickets are available on the Winter Wonderland website from just £5 and free tickets are

01:32 also available at off-peak times from 10 to 12 in the morning on selected days.
