00:13 Keemstar falsely accuses Sir Tony Ray.
00:17 Sir Tony Ray was the moniker of Tony Ray Winchester,
00:20 a RuneScape player who amassed a serious following on Twitch.
00:23 I have played RuneScape in-game with more people than anybody in the history of RuneScape.
00:31 That's what I'm the most proud of.
00:33 In 2016, he caught the attention of YouTuber Keemstar,
00:36 who made baseless accusations of him being a sexual predator,
00:39 confusing him with John Phillips, a Massachusetts man who used RuneScape for grooming purposes.
00:44 But it wasn't him. It wasn't him at all.
00:46 As a result, he was the target of a major harassment campaign.
00:49 He even made a tweet pleading with people to stop.
00:52 Keemstar eventually apologized and deleted the videos, and Sir Tony forgave him.
00:56 But it's still a chilling reminder of how dangerous misinformation can be.
00:59 I'm Tony and I never did nothing to nobody, and I'm a good guy.

01:10 MaximilianMus.
01:11 Swedish gaming YouTuber MaximilianMus was notorious for his trolling tendencies on games like Fortnite.
01:17 But it seems it went beyond just being a nuisance.
01:18 His name is MaximilianMus.
01:21 He's the "oh yeah yeah" guy. It's the only thing he's ever done.
01:24 In 2021, fellow YouTuber MoistCritical uploaded a video about MaximilianMus titled "This is the worst YouTuber."
01:31 In it, he talks extensively about the toxic things he and his followers have done, both on and offline.
01:36 I'm not going to show you any of that because it's beyond disturbing.
01:38 Much of the focus was on his Discord communities,
01:40 where he allegedly enabled the sharing of illegal media involving children.
01:44 The only statements I saw him make in the past were that it's just jokes.
01:48 In response to these accusations, MaximilianMus initially deleted his channel,
01:52 but he later returned, accusing MoistCritical of slander.
01:55 Onision.
01:56 Onision joined YouTube fairly early on, back in 2006.
01:59 His video for "Banana Song" "I'm a Banana" especially gained attention.
02:03 I'm a banana, I'm a banana, I'm a banana.
02:08 But as his fame grew, so did his notoriety.
02:11 He was absolutely massive.
02:13 And then he started letting that power get to his head.
02:15 Among the controversies involving Onision, including accusations of animal abuse and sexual assault,
02:21 he even caught the attention of "To Catch a Predator's" Chris Hansen.
02:24 It's ironic that Onision says "I've been stalking him"
02:27 when in fact he's the one accused of stalking his young female victims
02:31 on YouTube and on various social media platforms.
02:35 In February 2023, he was named in a lawsuit from a woman accusing him of grooming.
02:39 So all of these allegations are disgusting,
02:41 and he absolutely does need to be held accountable for years upon years of this kind of behavior.
02:48 He has also garnered controversy for insensitive remarks on issues like depression.
02:52 Onision is currently still posting to YouTube and has yet to comment on the lawsuit.
02:56 LeafyIsHere.
02:57 LeafyIsHere was a YouTuber known as the "King of Commentary"
03:00 who was notorious for getting involved in drama with numerous other YouTubers such as Keemstar,
03:04 as well as uploading videos attacking groups like children and autistic people.
03:08 Leafy would upload a video making fun of a YouTuber by the name of TommyNC2010.
03:13 Later that day, Tommy posted an emotionally distressed response,
03:17 claiming that Leafy's fans had harassed him and given him death threats.
03:21 Eventually it got so bad that in 2020 his original channel was banned from YouTube.
03:25 Less than a month later, he was also banned from Twitch.
03:27 He even admitted to his viewer base that he was milking the drama for the views,
03:31 but seven plus videos later, well, he's now banned.
03:34 He has tried to return to YouTube numerous times with new channels.
03:37 However, these channels have since been shut down due to them being attempts at ban evasion.
03:40 LeafyIsHere tweets out, "What the f*** Bezos,
03:43 just when I started having fun @TwitchSupport."
03:46 He has also been permanently suspended from Twitter.
03:48 Marina Joyce.
03:49 Many of the creators in this list have garnered controversy for insensitive remarks and accusations of abuse.
03:54 Marina Joyce sparked controversy for a rather unique reason.
03:58 She was very happy, a quirky character who was definitely not afraid of delivering
04:01 wholesome messages through the platform, which, you know, sometimes we definitely need more of.
04:06 However, all that was to change at the end of July 2016,
04:10 a few days after she posted a video known as "Date Alphatide Is."
04:13 In 2016, rumors started flying around after viewers noticed something was amiss with Joyce's videos.
04:19 A popular conspiracy was that she was in danger, possibly from ISIS.
04:22 Apparently, people started calling the police in her local area,
04:26 saying check on her because we think she's been abducted by the, by the, by ISIS.
04:30 Others believed she was having a mental health crisis.
04:33 Some, meanwhile, just thought it was a publicity stunt.
04:35 Then, in 2019, she was declared missing, only to be reported as alive and well only days later.
04:40 Marina Joyce has been found by London police after she was reported missing on August 7th.
04:45 Two months later, she made a post saying she never went missing in the first place.
04:48 Sam and Nia.
04:50 Christian husband and wife vloggers Sam and Nia soared to YouTube fame with a
04:54 lip-sync video to "Love Is an Open Door" from Frozen.
04:56 "Love is an open door."
05:01 And their family-focused videos gained a loyal following.
05:04 However, there have been a couple notable controversies involving the pair.
05:08 In 2015, a video was uploaded of Sam surprising Nia with news of her positive pregnancy test.
05:13 "No way! Are you serious right now? No way!"
05:17 This caused controversy about whether it was right for him to know about her pregnancy,
05:21 which ended in a miscarriage before she did.
05:23 Not long after, Sam was revealed as having an account on a fair dating website, Ashley Madison.
05:27 "And so last summer, when my husband's social media account involving cheating on your spouse
05:34 was brought to light, it caused a world of chaos and pain for us."
05:40 The couple took a hiatus before eventually returning to YouTube.
05:43 CSGO Lotto Scandal
05:45 In 2016, gaming YouTubers Trevor Martin and Thomas Castle, better known as Tmartin2,
05:50 and Syndicate began promoting CSGO Lotto, a gambling website where people could bet to
05:54 win weapon skins for Counter-Strike Global Offensive.
05:57 "If they could get the word out about CSGO Lotto to their huge audiences,
06:00 they were guaranteed to see at least some success."
06:02 They made it seem like this was a site they had just found by chance,
06:05 but that decidedly wasn't the case. That summer, YouTuber HonorTheCall exposed the ruse.
06:10 It seemed that Martin and Castle were president and vice president respectively.
06:14 "So these two own the website CSGOLotto.com and they allegedly do fake gambling and pretend to
06:20 win thousands of dollars and also sometimes pretend to lose it too."
06:24 They were initially defensive but eventually posted apology videos to mixed response.
06:28 They also ended up settling a case with the Federal Trade Commission regarding the misleading videos.
06:32 "Anyway, you can see here there's a statement from the acting chairman of the FTC,
06:37 Maureen Olhausen, who says, 'Consumers need to know when social media influencers are being paid
06:43 or have any other material connection to the brands endorsed in their posts.'"
06:46 Other YouTubers like Jake Paul and RiceGum have also faced controversy for promoting
06:50 gambling site Mystery Brand to their younger audiences.
06:54 Sky does Minecraft
06:55 Minecraft YouTuber Adam Dahlberg is arguably one of the most influential gaming YouTubers.
07:00 "So Adam figured why not make a mod showcase that actually made people laugh,
07:04 and once that was implemented, the rest was history."
07:07 But fans were likely shocked to learn about what was supposedly happening offline.
07:11 In 2022, a former partner of theirs posted a 6,000-word open letter to them,
07:15 alleging shocking abuse and harassment of herself and others, as well as intense bigotry.
07:19 Garnering thousands of retweets and impressions, the scathing iCloud document linked in the tweet
07:24 provided an insanely detailed, insanely dark look into the internal hell Liz had been subjected to
07:30 for the past several years.
07:32 "Others, including former colleagues and friends,
07:34 came out with their own stories of mistreatment."
07:36 I don't feel like going into details, but one fun situation was when my mom had a heart attack,
07:40 and I wanted to go visit her to see if she was okay.
07:43 This was one of the many times my loyalty was threatened and my job was held over my head
07:48 because I had more videos to edit.
07:51 A year later, Dahlberg finally responded to the controversy in a lengthy apology post.
07:55 They have also recently returned to posting content to their original channel,
07:58 now known as Sky Does Everything.

08:01 Vlog Squad leader David Dobrik is one of the most popular personalities on YouTube.

08:07 "Congratulations, Kylie."
08:08 "No, she's right here."

08:09 He's also one of the most controversial.
08:12 In 2021, a member of his on-screen friend group was accused of sexual assault,
08:17 leading to Dobrik losing sponsors and subscribers.
08:19 He posted an apology video, which many doubted the sincerity of.
08:22 "Even though I got the consent to post that video, I should have never posted it."
08:27 He has also garnered controversy for racism in past content.
08:30 Another major incident occurred in 2020 when Vlog Squad member Jeff Wittek was
08:34 seriously injured in a dangerous wakeboarding stunt involving Dobrik.
08:38 "Time literally slows down."
08:41 He subsequently filed a $10 million lawsuit against Dobrik.

09:21 His song "No Handlebars" received backlash for its misogynistic lyrics and video.
09:25 He also caused a stir in 2019 among the LGBTQ+ community for saying he would try to "go gay"
09:37 for a month.
09:38 Many on social media called the comment offensive.
09:41 In 2021, his NFT game CryptoZoo received a very negative reaction,
09:45 both for its poor functionality and design as well as its marketing towards children.
09:49 YouTuber CoffeeZilla even referred to it as his biggest scam.
