00:28 Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said that Indian nationals will be permitted to stay in Malaysia

00:37 However, this privilege will be subject to security screening measures.
00:42 The Malaysian government is banking on increased tourist arrivals, particularly from India
00:46 and China, to drive economic growth.
00:49 Anwar Ibrahim had previously revealed plans to enhance visa facilities next year, specifically
00:55 targeting tourists and investors from India and China.
00:58 Meanwhile, in Southeast Asia, Vietnam is considering following suit by offering visa-free entry
01:04 for Indian and Chinese citizens.
01:07 Currently, nationals from several European countries enjoy visa-free travel to Vietnam
01:12 and the country provides e-visas with a 90-day validity and multiple entry allowances for

01:21 In a similar move last month, Thailand announced a six-month period of visa-free entry for
01:26 tourists from India and Taiwan, effective from November 10, 2023 to May 10, 2024.
01:33 Thai Prime Minister Sretathavishan said that the country will provide visa-free entry to
01:38 Indian and Taiwanese citizens due to the heavy tourist influx from these countries.
