Doctor Who at Vanguard Comics

Vanguard Comics in Stoke Road, Gosport, held a Doctor Who event for the 60th anniversary.

00:06 to celebrate 60 years of Doctor Who and welcome all my customers who want to come along and

00:12 enjoy the fun with the Daleks and with the cosplayers including myself and the 12th Doctor

00:18 over there Julian and just have a good time.

00:22 And why did you want to put this on today?

00:25 Well because it's 60 years of Doctor Who, Doctor Who plays a very important part in

00:28 comic book and science fiction history and because it's celebrating one year anniversary

00:34 since we moved here from Leon's Island so it's a double celebration.

00:38 And tell me what the reaction has been like to Vanguard Comics?

00:41 Great, I've had a lot of support, people come up and help us out with the cosplayers and

00:48 everything else and it's been a really supportive community.

00:50 I've built up a good Warhammer club and we've got a massive following.

00:56 Tell me who's your favourite Doctor?

00:58 Oh on the spot I'd have to go with John Pertwee because he was my first Doctor, he's the one

01:04 I first encountered when I was a young child.

01:07 Giuseppe tell me where we are and why you've come down today?

01:10 We're at the comic shop in Gosport and I've come here because I don't know about the other

01:21 people but I am a really big fan of Doctor Who and today is a very special day for me

01:27 because I not only attend today but it's also the Doctor Who 60th anniversary.

01:34 And how does that make you feel?

01:36 It makes me feel good that my birthday is on the day that my favourite TV show was released.

01:44 Tell me who your favourite Doctor is?

01:45 No doubt Matt Smith, he's probably my favourite because of how funny he was and all his jokes,

01:53 even in the most terrible of situations he's like "oh have you ever seen the Daleks on

01:58 your faces?"

01:59 It's so funny.

02:00 Are you hoping to get anything from the comic shop here today?

02:04 Yeah maybe, I was over there looking at the Doctor Who comics earlier seeing what's going

02:11 on over there and I'm probably going to get one because I do have many Doctor Who comics

02:17 at my house.

02:19 Have you met any of the Doctors?

02:20 Yes actually, I've met quite a few of them.

02:23 I've met Jodie Whittaker, Matt Smith twice, Silver McCoy, Colin Baker, David Tennant

02:35 and I haven't just met Doctors, I've also met companions, well only one companion so

02:41 far.

02:42 I met Karen Gillan, also known as Amy Pond from the Matt Smith series.
