00:05 as he was benched late in the game yesterday,

00:08 a brutal, brutal game against the Buffalo Bills.

00:12 I mean, people are very hard on Robert Salah.

00:15 I kind of give him credit, man.

00:17 Like he rode this thing as long as he could to the point where he just couldn't

00:21 do it anymore.

00:22 And I think that for poor Zach, he's gonna have to sit on the bench.

00:26 And I think probably best that he goes to another organization,

00:29 maybe get some new eyes on him.

00:31 Take a look at him, see what his strengths are, his weaknesses.

00:33 But for the Jets, it feels like they kind of had this Aaron Rodgers news,

00:37 Jacob, remember with this guy, see if we can hang around 500.

00:40 Inevitably, it doesn't look like it's gonna be the case.

00:43 And even if Rodgers comes back, it's probably too little too late, right?

00:46 >> Yeah, I would say so at this point.

00:49 The problem with the Jets was they didn't have that better insurance policy.

00:53 It made sense for them to keep Zach Wilson and to an extent say, hey,

00:57 if Aaron Rodgers goes down, we can just see what we have in Zach Wilson.

01:00 And obviously, they're not expecting Aaron Rodgers to go down, but

01:03 they just had no insurance behind him.

01:05 Cuz we know what Zach Wilson is, we know what he's been during his career.

01:09 And even if you were projecting a step forward,

01:11 he has actually taken a step forward this year.

01:13 He's still not good enough to be a consistent starter on a playoff caliber

01:17 team.

01:18 I think he needed a fresh start more than anything else.

01:21 And I'm just not sure that he's ever going to pan out at the NFL level.

01:25 I'm just not sure the mental processing of the game is there.

01:28 I mean, you see it sometimes his first read is taken away on a screen and

01:32 he just spikes the ball into the ground away from everyone.

01:34 And just sometimes he looks downfield and just heaves the ball up into coverage.

01:38 And he's been better this year, especially between the 20s.

01:41 But we're still gonna see games like we saw yesterday where you watch that whole

01:45 game, you're just keeping an eye on it and

01:47 you felt the whole way the Jets had no chance with Zach Wilson.

01:50 So I feel for Robert Salah too.

01:53 He didn't have another move once Aaron Rodgers went down.

01:56 But this is more on the Jets organization for

01:58 not having at least one more quality quarterback who they could say,

02:02 all right, we'll try veteran.

02:04 By the time they got Trevor Simeon into that system,

02:07 it was probably too late for him to actually make an impact this year.
