00:00 Hi, I'm Julie Blackburn and this is Tom Kerfie.

00:03 Hello.

00:03 And we are here to welcome you and set the stage for Media Isle of Man's Awards for Excellence 2023.

00:10 And here we are at the Sefton. This is where it's all starting. The pre-party is underway and I can't wait to go meet everyone.

00:17 All our MHKs are here along with our 52 finalists and their family, friends and supporters. So it should be a great start to the night.

00:25 It certainly should. And this is a good chance for politicians to meet some of the achievers and speak to them.

00:30 Tell them all about what they can do to improve. Maybe the government can do different things.

00:34 Yeah, absolutely. A bit of support going on there.

00:37 The wonderful thing about entering the Awards for Excellence is the unique opportunity, especially if you become a finalist,

00:44 to put your business, raise its profile among a lot of people that matter.

00:49 But most of all, it's about celebrating our island community, especially Morair.

00:53 And it's also a wonderful night for dressing up. So we're going to be looking also, well I am, at what some of the people are wearing.

01:01 I expect lots of satin and silk, Tom. And maybe just the men.

01:04 Oh, that might just be the men, yes indeed.

01:06 And two queens.

01:07 A lot of them. Let's get the party started.
