00:00 - Hey, it's Billboard here with Heather Lowry.
00:01 How you doing tonight?
00:03 - I'm amazing.
00:03 It's really overwhelming.
00:05 - I couldn't believe it.
00:07 You created such a beautiful event
00:09 to honor black women and just women alike.
00:11 - Thank you.
00:12 - What made you want to do this event?
00:13 Like what made you sit back and be like,
00:15 we need to give people our flowers.
00:17 - Actually, give our flowers started
00:20 as a hashtag on Instagram.
00:22 So I just wanted to hashtag give our flowers
00:25 just to celebrate women in music and entertainment.
00:27 And so now it's manifested into a whole night
00:30 where we give awards to the women in the industry
00:33 that are doing dope things.
00:35 - Yes, such as yourself.
00:37 So why is it important to bring events like this together?
00:40 To bring women together, to celebrate women,
00:42 to just be here?
00:44 - I mean, it's important because it doesn't normally happen.
00:48 Like I don't know if there's another award show
00:50 for all women.
00:52 So I wanted to make sure like for me,
00:54 it's all about creating things
00:55 that haven't been created before
00:57 and making a real difference.
01:01 So it's exciting.
01:02 - A hundred percent.
01:03 Now, this is a big event,
01:05 but if you had to have dinner with three women
01:08 dead or alive in a small intimate setting,
01:10 who are you going to dinner with?
01:12 - A small intimate, so that's so hard.
01:16 Oh my goodness.
01:17 Three women dead or alive, small intimate setting.
01:20 One would be SZA.
01:22 I'm so bad on the spot.
01:24 - Whitney Houston.
01:25 - Oh my God, dead or alive.
01:26 - Yes, Whitney Houston.
01:28 - Audre Lorde.
01:28 - Yeah, that's a hard one.
01:32 - Well, I think that's a great dinner to go with.
01:34 I would love to be there.
