00:00 Thank you for joining us.
00:02 In this CreateUp segment, we will discuss an interesting topic,
00:06 which is learning while investing for millennials and start-ups.
00:12 It's been connected through a video conference with Mr. Lutfi Dunaf,
00:17 CEO and founder of Invest.ly.
00:20 How are you, Mr. Dunaf?
00:22 I'm good. How are you? Thank you for inviting me.
00:25 I'm good. How are you? Thank you for inviting me.
00:25 I'm good. How are you? Thank you for inviting me.
00:30 Can you introduce Invest.ly?
00:34 Okay, thank you.
00:37 Invest.ly is a social investing app.
00:40 It's a combination of social media for investors and platform for investing.
00:47 We target millennials and start-ups.
00:49 Invest.ly is like LinkedIn for investors, where you can find newbie investors,
00:55 expert investors, and you can share your knowledge and experience while investing.
01:02 What can we share and what features are there in Invest.ly?
01:07 We have three main services in Invest.ly.
01:12 We have social investment, trade investment, and wealth investment.
01:17 We focus on social investment.
01:19 Newbie investors and expert investors can gather here and share their knowledge.
01:25 We also have a group session.
01:27 Expert investors are mostly from professional investors.
01:32 Some are from capital market, some are from professional capital market.
01:35 For example, research analysts.
01:37 They can share their practical experience to newbies.
01:45 It's like Twitter for investors.
01:51 We will also provide newbies with an experience to invest in stocks and stocks.
02:01 Okay, so right now, you can't invest in stocks and stocks.
02:09 You can only share your knowledge with experts and beginners.
02:12 That's right.
02:14 Right now, we have around 20 experts and dozens of communities.
02:23 Users can find credible information.
02:26 We can see that millennials have covered 60% of total investor retail in Indonesia.
02:35 We can see their behavior.
02:37 They are looking for information from social media.
02:40 The problem is, we don't know how credible social media is.
02:47 That's why we have Invest.ly where we try to curate information.
02:51 So, people can get reliable information.
02:57 They can learn how to invest in stocks.
03:01 They can be more comfortable and trustful when using the platform.
03:07 What is the most important topic for investors?
03:13 Is it stocks or other investment instruments?
03:16 How do you curate information for experts?
03:23 There are many topics.
03:28 But, there are two topics that are discussed frequently.
03:31 It's about trading or stock investment.
03:33 And also, it's about current trending financial issues.
03:36 For example, when the SDP Bank went bankrupt,
03:41 it was discussed about the financial issues.
03:44 And then, there are many practical knowledge in the stock market.
03:51 How to analyze stocks, when to buy cheap stocks, and so on.
03:55 For the experts, we take experts from anyone.
04:01 They are happy to share their knowledge about investment or finance.
04:07 And they have professional experience in the market.
04:10 So, for now, 80% of our experts are professionals in the market.
04:17 We work with both buy-side and sell-side.
04:20 They have their own analysis.
04:22 They can contribute to Invest.ly as their channel to share information.
04:29 They can share their knowledge about investment.
04:32 So, you work with them.
04:35 With security, maybe?
04:37 Yes, with security, investment management, and also with the analysis.
04:43 We share information about how to invest.
04:47 How to see it from a professional perspective.
04:50 Because that's what you can't get anywhere else.
04:53 Okay. So, the idea is very interesting.
04:59 And it's needed in the growth of literacy, penetration, and investment in Indonesia.
05:06 But, as a startup, Invest.ly will want to make a profit.
05:14 We will discuss the mechanism later.
05:17 Let's talk about it first.
05:19 We will be back in a moment.
05:23 Thank you for joining us in CREATE UP.
05:26 For you, a beginner who wants to learn while investing for millennials and Gen Z through startups.
05:33 This could be the right choice with Lutfi, CEO of Dunaf and also the founder of Invest.ly.
05:39 Where Invest.ly meets experts and beginners to share their knowledge.
05:45 Right, Lutfi?
05:47 Yes, that's right.
05:49 When did you start as a startup?
05:52 When did you start operating?
05:55 We launched last year, in August 2022.
06:00 Okay, so it's still very new.
06:03 When we talk about profit, it's usually not in the first year.
06:08 But, for that direction, because in the end, it's a business that wants to make a profit.
06:14 What is the strategy for the future?
06:16 What is the strategy for the future?
06:20 Right, so we have a few plans.
06:23 For sure, we want to build a sustainable business.
06:27 As a startup, even though people used to think that startups will make money, but we don't.
06:33 We want to focus on the profitability.
06:35 So what we do, actually, from the business model, there are two business models.
06:39 The first is subscription.
06:42 The second is based on transaction.
06:46 For subscription, we still apply freemium, because we still have a lot of user acquisition.
06:52 And in the future, we will cooperate with the security,
06:57 to be able to carry out stock transactions and also sell and buy cash.
07:04 Okay, to make stock transactions, sell and buy cash and use the subscription method.
07:11 But, every security, especially maybe the AB, most of them already have their own online trading application
07:19 which is very complete, when to buy, when to sell, in terms of analysis, the alarm is even set there
07:25 to give guidance to their investors or startup investors.
07:29 Then there is also a room for conversation.
07:33 How to compete with applications or platforms of the same type?
07:41 Okay, thank you. So, interestingly, in my opinion, in the world of capital markets, especially in security,
07:50 there are some securities that have the capacity from the side of technology or IT
07:56 to develop further related to the online trading platform and do a lot of innovation there.
08:02 We see a lot of platforms or securities that are very focused on the retail side and also the technology.
08:08 However, we also see that there are some securities that seem to prioritize collaboration.
08:15 Collaboration where they are very focused on their core business as effect traders
08:21 and maybe there are also those who borrow the effect emissions, but not too much on the technology side.
08:28 That's a security that can be our potential partner to develop further from the technology side.
08:35 Because we are sure that with the approach we take, especially by tapping millennials
08:40 and then by approaching social media, we believe we are able to make a difference in the market
08:50 and can also penetrate the retail market, especially like that.
08:54 Okay, I'm sure there are still significant opportunities, also considering the number of investors.
09:00 If we talk about the capital market, there are already around 11.42 million investors.
09:05 That means there is still a lot of room for collaboration, not for competition.
09:15 Okay, Invest Lee, what is the short-term target? What is the long-term target?
09:19 And what are the main challenges, Mr. Lutfi?
09:23 Okay, so for the short-term target, maybe it's short-term and medium-term,
09:28 because we already have the end of the year, we plan to partner up with a security company
09:35 that later this Invest Lee application can transact stocks and also interest.
09:41 For the long term, actually the goals of Invest Lee itself, we want to make people invest better and also fun.
09:49 So especially millennials and Gen Z, whose segmentation has now started to thicken,
09:53 in the number of investors segmentation in Indonesia,
09:57 we want to be a super app where investors, millennials and Gen Z can invest in various instruments
10:05 with a much easier experience.
10:07 And later we can create a healthy ecosystem for investment.
10:11 So it's not just information that's just a pom-pom, we don't want that.
10:16 We want to build very good literacy in society.
10:19 What are the main challenges?
10:21 Okay, the main challenge is actually from the industry itself,
10:25 because we are in the middle of two industries that I think are quite big.
10:31 One on the side of the startup industry and also the capital market industry.
10:35 Where if you look at it yourself, now the startup industry is not as aggressive as it might have been seen 2-3 years ago.
10:45 Now maybe it's a bit like this, because the index may not have strengthened significantly,
10:51 also making the investors still a bit lazy.
10:54 That's right. But we see it as a momentum too.
10:59 Because at the end of the day, the market is just a cycle.
11:03 We see a lot of cycles where when the market is in a slump,
11:08 this is our momentum to prepare later.
11:11 When the market is bullish again, we are ready for what we have.
11:16 Hopefully the targets from IAN Festley can be achieved.
11:20 Good luck to you, Lutfi and the team. See you again.
11:23 Thank you.
11:25 Okay, Mr. Mirsa, that's all for this CREATE UP.
11:27 Before we end, we will update the position of IHSG again.
11:30 It's 9.29 or 9.29 after the opening of the first session.
11:35 Where IHSG, Mr. Mirsa, is still in positive territory, up 0.21% at 6,821 with the US dollar.
11:48 At 15,700 or weakening 0.11%.
11:51 And the range of stocks that are top gainers are SOTS, Puri, Citi.
11:56 And the top losers are DOOH, MEN, LP, Kohl.
11:59 As you can see on the screen, BRPT is also in the top losers based on value at the moment.
12:05 And that information concludes our meeting this morning, Mr. Mirsa.
12:12 At Power Breakfast, we have accompanied you for 90 minutes.
12:15 Hopefully this discussion can be a reference source of information for you.
12:19 Keep updating your information only on IDX Channel,
12:22 your trustworthy and comprehensive investment reference.
12:25 I'm Prisa Sampodatu. See you again.
