An industrial robot crushed a man to death at a distribution center for agricultural produce in South Korea. The victim was a worker in his 40s who was inspecting the robot's sensor operations. The robot, which was lifting boxes of bell peppers and placing them on a pallet, appears to have malfunctioned and identified the man as a box. The robotic arm pushed the man's upper body against a conveyor belt, crushing his face and chest. He later died in the hospital from his injuries. In March of this year, another incident occurred in South Korea where a man was seriously injured after getting trapped by a robot at an automobile parts plant.
