The House majority plays down the ouster of two key allies of former president Rodrigo Duterte from the Deputy Speakership. The congressmen insist the alliance between Duterte's family and that of President Bongbong Marcos remains intact.

Lawmakers also deny the shake-up in the chamber has something to do with the 2028 national elections.
