Transcript
00:00 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:03 I never thought I'd actually be here with the crew right now
00:17 or anything like that, like ever.
00:20 I'm just a regular Joe, you know what I mean?
00:22 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:25 [ENGINE REVVING]
00:29 You know, we found out that Power Tour is coming to Brownsville.
00:40 I was like, oh, yeah, oh, let's go set up my car.
00:42 I found out about it a couple of weeks ago.
00:44 Took a vacation day to get out here and watch
00:46 all the cars pass through.
00:47 Biggest event to come through Jackson County in quite a while.
00:50 We had Power Tour come through Seymour a couple of years ago.
00:54 It's been probably three or four years.
00:55 But I just got to see a little bit of it
00:57 because I didn't have the day off.
01:01 I've been here since 8 o'clock this morning.
01:03 There's about 25 to 30 of us retired gentlemen
01:08 that meet for breakfast at a restaurant in Seymour.
01:12 Car people.
01:13 All car people.
01:13 And one lady, me.
01:15 [LAUGHTER]
01:16 Got to have our camera lady.
01:18 [MUSIC PLAYING]
01:21 [ENGINE REVVING]
01:25 [MUSIC PLAYING]
01:28 We made it.
01:35 It was a fast trip today.
01:37 How did it compare to yesterday?
01:40 A little hotter.
01:41 Yesterday was gorgeous.
01:42 It's hard to compare to yesterday.
01:44 [MUSIC PLAYING]
01:47 Are we halfway through now?
01:50 Or is this past the halfway point?
01:52 I believe it's past the halfway point, right?
01:54 Yeah.
01:54 It's Wednesday.
01:55 We stopped Friday.
01:56 So--
01:56 [MUSIC PLAYING]
01:59 Lots of people think it's the tools.
02:01 Can you imagine if someone stole this?
02:02 But we've got-- and this is because I try to be a good dad.
02:05 We've got vegetables down here.
02:07 We've got-- this is stuff that's moving.
02:08 We've got milk right there.
02:11 And we've got, again, some vegetables.
02:13 We got fruit mostly in here.
02:15 And protein, snacks.
02:19 And then a little of each because it's a lot easier
02:21 to open the top than the drawers because they all get shut,
02:23 you know, and locked down.
02:25 That's our food situation.
02:26 And it's working really, really good.
02:28 Traveling 6,000 miles in a caged car
02:31 to go drag racing on Hot Rod Power Tour,
02:33 how can we not do that?
02:34 That's bucket list living for sure.
02:36 So we're going to see if it passes tech.
02:38 And I've learned from experience in my six drag races
02:41 that you have to wear a helmet.
02:44 I have to put my window net up.
02:46 You have to wear a shirt when you drag race.
02:47 No one tells you that.
02:48 You also have to wear pants and real shoes.
02:50 So I have my drag racing kit.
02:52 Everything fits inside the helmet.
02:53 And we're going to go drag race to punish tech.
02:55 [MUSIC PLAYING]
02:58 I can't wait to watch that tape on a computer.
03:14 It's actually really fun.
03:16 Yeah, I know.
03:17 [MUSIC PLAYING]
03:20 Going down to 13.20.
03:26 I love it.
03:27 The Punish Tank.
03:28 [MUSIC PLAYING]
03:37 [ENGINE REVVING]
03:40 I think I had a BMW engine in it for about a week.
04:03 But it just won't compare.
04:07 I mean, this is basically 700 wheel horsepower.
04:11 I really bought this just to do the swap.
04:14 I haven't been able to replace everything yet.
04:17 We've got GM brake calipers on the front.
04:20 And just kind of try to do some weird stuff.
04:23 I haven't gotten a 10 second run yet.
04:26 We did 11.1 at 133 miles an hour.
04:30 [MUSIC PLAYING]
04:34 [ENGINE REVVING]
04:38 Sometimes it's hot.
04:40 Sometimes it's a little sticky.
04:42 Today it's really wet.
04:44 [MUSIC PLAYING]
04:48 A little bit wet, but that's OK.
04:53 It's going to come out.
04:54 It's a free car wash.
04:55 That's the whole thing.
04:56 [MUSIC PLAYING]
