00:12 The parking lot of the ballpark in Arlington, Texas marked the starting point of the 2004 Hot Rod Power Tour.

00:20 This stadium was the location of Saturday's all-day kickoff party, hosted by Painless Performance.

00:27 2004 marked the 11th anniversary of the Power Tour, an event that has grown exponentially since its humble beginnings.

00:36 Years ago, the editors got together and really rallied behind editor-in-chief David Freiberger,

00:42 decided to take some of the vehicles that were built up in the magazine, take them out on the roads.

00:47 Word spread, more and more people started to want to join along. It became an annual experience.

00:53 And the tour went from 12 to 35 people and just continued to grow, doubling almost every year for the last three years.

01:00 The 2004 tour set a new record, with over 2,000 registering as long haulers,

01:07 the term for those who make the entire drive of over 1,500 miles from Arlington, Texas to Green Bay, Wisconsin.
