Acura presents the 2007 turbocharged RDX

00:00 It's hard to believe that 2006 is the 20th anniversary of Acura.

00:16 They started out with just two models, the Legend and the Integra.

00:19 Well, of course, today they have a much greater variety, including a new premium entry-level

00:25 SUV.

00:26 Here at the 2006 New York Auto Show, they took the wraps off the production version

00:30 of the 2007 RDX.

00:34 Introducing the 2007 RDX from Acura.

00:50 The RDX is smaller than the current MDX and has seating for five.

00:54 It features Acura's super handling all-wheel drive, first offered in the RL flagship sedan.

01:01 It also has Acura's first turbocharged engine, a 2.3 liter inline four that makes 240 horsepower.

01:08 The RDX is positioned to offer sports sedan handling and performance with the functionality

01:14 of an SUV.

01:15 It's built to play against competitors like the BMW X3 and goes on sale this fall.

01:22 We also saw this MDX concept, which Acura made no secret about the fact that it's probably

01:28 very close to the production version of the second generation MDX, which also goes on

01:33 sale this fall.

01:44 The first generation MDX was Motor Trend's 2001 sport utility of the year.

01:49 Just like that original, this new MDX has been designed and developed by Honda stylists

01:54 and engineers in California and Ohio.

01:57 Honda says this MDX concept is symbolic of the increasing role that Honda North America

02:03 R&D is playing in the future of Acura.

02:06 Like this concept, the production MDX will likely have a longer wheelbase, wider track,
