00:00 I'm here in front of the 2008 Mazda 3S Grand Touring.
00:15 This model gets a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder, makes 156 horsepower, it's made into a 5 speed automatic
00:22 manual mode.
00:23 So with this Mazda 3S you get struts up front and multi-link design in the rear, as well
00:28 as 17 inch wheels and 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS.
00:33 Compared to its predecessor, the Protégé, the 3 offers much better styling.
00:37 It's more rounded now.
00:38 The Protégé was more of a 3 box design, more square like.
00:42 This car has some nice lines, nice rounded edges, it still looks fresh, even after 4
00:49 years on the market.
00:51 Inside the interior is very driver focused, good ergonomics, clean, straight forward design,
00:56 and high quality materials.
00:58 This car is the most fun to drive of the four.
01:01 You get the most lively chassis, it's the one you want to take out on a twisty road.
01:06 There's hardly any understeer, excellent grip, it offers the best steering feel, it's the
01:11 most direct.
01:12 Brakes, again, the best feel and the best performance.
01:16 The suspension offers excellent, crisp handling, yet it doesn't beat you up, it's never rough,
01:22 it's never harsh.
01:23 So overall, you get the best of both worlds, quiet, comfortable ride, and great handling.
01:28 Against these four cars, it really goes to the top.
01:32 Not only is it the most fun to drive, but it still looks great, not quite as snazzy
01:38 as the Civic, but much better than the Corolla and the Subaru.
01:42 Interior is still clean and fresh, good materials, it's roomy.
01:47 Performance is still near the top, it's not quite as quick as the Corolla, but it's quicker
01:51 than the Subaru and the Honda.
01:54 That 2.3 liter engine, you get plenty of horsepower and torque, the five-speed automatic, offers
01:59 a manual mode, and most importantly, the chassis is just great.
02:03 You really get the feeling that you're driving a sports car with the group.
