00:21 Last Monday of action here in Santiago 2023, last week of action as well, but a week of

00:30 A lot of people are charged with a lot of different disciplines.

00:32 Let's do a quick review of what happened last night, shall we?

00:36 Let's start with tennis, where Facundo Diaz from Argentina defeated local talent Tomas

00:41 Varios to take the gold on the singles men's side.

00:44 The young 22-year-old Argentina was the first seeded, the highest seeded on the tennis ranking,

00:51 and he came to the tournament with that expectation, to take the gold, and he was able to deliver,

00:56 defeating Tomas Varios on a very heated match.

00:58 Yesterday, he had the whole crowd against him.

01:01 He was, of course, facing the local talent, but he was able to take the match in only

01:07 two sets.

01:08 Speaking of tennis also, Brazil secured the gold medal, where Laura Pigosi got the gold

01:15 against Argentine Lourdes Carl from Argentina.

01:21 This match happened right before the men's side.

01:24 Let's talk about football.

01:25 Mexico defeated Uruguay 1-0.

01:30 Brazil did the same against Honduras 3-0.

01:32 Colombia ended up losing to the United States 2-0, and Chile had a very good day defeating

01:37 Dominican Raul 5-0.

01:41 In female action on the basketball court, Argentina secured the bronze medal, defeating

01:46 Cuba 75-66, while Brazil got the gold medal, defeating Colombia later on last night.

01:55 This morning, we had fencing started.

01:58 Fencing is a discipline where there's a lot of athletes competing.

02:00 It's going to happen all through the day.

02:03 We want to highlight Venezuela, who won four of their five first matches, and Chile, on

02:09 the other hand, won three, lost three.

02:12 Around 6 p.m. tonight, we're going to have the final results on fencing, and of course,

02:16 we are going to be bringing you the last updates, the last medals that are going to be happening

02:21 around 6 p.m. in fencing.

02:24 Let's talk about field hockey on the girls' side.

02:26 Argentina, the main candidate, the biggest rival here of all.

02:32 Argentina, as we know, have participated in all of the finals on the Pan American Games

02:37 in hockey.

02:38 They defeated Trinidad and Tobago 21-0 early this morning.

02:43 Mexico is playing Canada right now, and later on, Uruguay is going to play the United States,

02:48 looking to secure a spot on semifinals, and is going to close everything Chile versus

02:52 Cuba.

02:53 Chile is already qualifying for semifinals.

02:57 Another discipline that started this morning, it was men's volleyball.

03:00 Brazil is defeating Colombia right now in the first match, and later on tonight, Cuba

03:04 is going to face Mexico.

03:05 Argentina, Puerto Rico, and Chile is going to close against Dominican Republic.

03:11 More sports happening today.

03:13 Athletics starting right behind me at the Coliseum here in Uñoa, where the decathlon

03:17 is going to start, and fan favorite, 100-meter dash on the women's side and on the men's

03:22 side.

03:23 Just remind everybody who's watching, these are preliminary rounds, heats, as they're

03:26 called in athletics.

03:27 So, the finals are going to be happening in the next couple of days, and of course, we're

03:38 softball and baseball stadium, where softball is starting, and we're going to have a very

03:43 exciting match that we're going to be covering.

03:45 United States is going to be facing Venezuela in the Group A action in softball, so we are

03:50 going to be there as soon as we're done with you guys.

03:53 Right before closing, I want to give you a quick update on surfing.

03:58 Surfing action taking place on the sixth region in Chile, in Punta de Lobos, around 200 kilometers

04:03 from where we are right now.

04:05 We already have bronze medals for Colombia, Brazil, Chile, and Peru.

04:09 Right now, as we speak, the gold medal matches are happening, where, quick update, United

04:14 States just defeated Brazil, and Colombia also just defeated Brazil, and Chile right

04:20 now, as soon as we're talking Chile lost to Peru.

04:23 Peru, Colombia, and United States got gold medals in surfing, and this action is going

04:29 to continue, and of course, we're going to have the updates on the scoreboard for you

04:33 guys later on tonight.
