01:36 I'm Detective Sergeant Gareth Jen from South Yorkshire Police Services, dedicated to prison anti-corruption unit.
01:41 The pending of these 16 sentences today marks the end of an unprecedented investigation
01:47 into one of the most significant and complex prison conspiracies in the country.
01:51 The work that has gone into piecing together the activities of this criminal enterprise has been considerable.
01:57 Our investigation started in 2019 when based on intelligence received,
02:03 we began investigating 38 year old prison nursing assistant Amy Hatfield.
02:08 Over the following four years, we identified an extensive group of 17 criminals
02:13 who were involved in smuggling dangerous and illegal drugs and articles into HMP Lindock for financial gain.
02:20 Today I want to recognize the dedication of the investigation team,
02:24 in particular the officer in the case, Detective Constable Scott Jarvis,
02:28 who have worked relentlessly to gather evidence against those involved.
02:32 In addition, I would like to thank the specialists who have provided their knowledge and expertise to the case over the last four years.
02:40 This result could also not have been achieved without the assistance from our partners at the Crown Prosecution Service and the Prison Service,
02:47 and we would like to thank them today.
02:49 While I am pleased that today's sentencing sees a number of this group behind bars,
02:54 our work to tackle the smuggling of illegal items into prison does not stop here.
02:59 Prisons should be places of safety where inmates can get help and support as they work towards rehabilitation.
03:07 We know that sadly the circulation of drugs and other illicit substances causes great misery and violence in our prisons.
03:14 We continue to work closely with the Prison Service to eliminate this kind of activity in prisons,
03:20 and we are steadfast in our commitment to identifying those who exploit that system.
03:25 We will ensure those who are responsible are met with a full full
