Even though the government of Egypt reiterated all week that it was going to open the Rafah Border to allow the arrival of humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza who are suffering from the constant Israeli attacks, crossing point is still closed. 00:11 However, so far the Rafah crossing point is still closed.
00:14 So from Gaza, our correspondent Nora Harrison has the details.
00:18 We are actually at the front gate of the Rafah border between Egypt and Gaza.
00:24 And even though Egypt said that they will reopen the Rafah border today, Friday, to
00:30 allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, however, the border is closed until now.
00:39 This has happened before.
00:40 During the week, Egypt repeatedly said that they will be opening the Rafah border to allow
00:46 medical supplies and food supplies to enter the Gaza Strip.
00:51 However, until this moment, the border is closed.
00:55 We're talking about around 20 to 30 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid for the people
01:01 of Gaza, especially that the Gaza Strip is suffering a dire need of especially water,
01:09 canned food, milk, flour, bread.
01:12 And also the hospitals are actually suffering the lack of medicine and medical supplies
01:17 that they started to treat people on the floors of the hospital.
01:23 They started also the doctors to just treat people with only moderate to serious injuries.
01:30 Those with minor injuries, they just do some stitches and some bandages and that's it.
