00:59 I became kind of obsessed with understanding

01:09 like the black diaspora.

01:10 Books are still, for me, the best way to engage

01:13 in a more meaningful level.

01:16 Yeah, literature played this huge role

01:18 in finding the beginnings of what is turning into my voice

01:22 and finding comfort and being able to talk

01:24 about these things that are really difficult.

01:26 And I love stories.

01:27 I was talking to my friend about this yesterday.

01:30 About how much stories mean to us

01:32 and how much our brain needs to be wrapped up in stories.

01:36 I think it's the same thing with my music.

01:39 I need to be telling something.

01:40 Oh my God.

01:43 As I've been learning about my own gender

01:51 and what non-binary means to me,

01:53 it's been really exciting and liberating

01:55 to play with different styles and different fashions.

01:58 Maybe when you're doing a puzzle

02:03 and you've looked at the same piece,

02:04 like maybe seven times.

02:06 And then all of a sudden you look at it and you're like,

02:17 oh, it goes here.

02:18 That's what makes this good.

02:20 And just finding those different pieces.

02:22 It can just be such a powerful thing.

02:25 I love it when people are themselves.

02:26 It's so cool when you see someone that's just like,

02:28 I know who I am.

02:29 I really care about this thing.

02:31 Being you is really cool.

02:33 And caring about what you care about,

02:35 that's where originality and authenticity is like,

02:38 for me that's where I admire it or look for it.

02:40 Like it's a better place when everyone

02:44 is in touch with who they are and why they are who they are.
