00:00 Hi, I'm Chris and this is my exotic garden here in Wakefield.
00:07 So this is my exotic garden here in Wakefield.
00:14 So this is my exotic garden here in Wakefield.
00:21 So this is my exotic garden here in Wakefield.
00:28 So this is my exotic garden here in Wakefield.
00:50 So we moved here 10 years ago and the garden back then was just a long narrow lawn with some dilapidated greenhouses at the bottom end and some overgrown garden vegetable plots as well.
01:04 And then over the last 10 years we've gone about designing a tropical exotic garden starting at the back and then working our way to the back of the house and developing each bit stage by stage.
01:17 So this first part of the garden is quite open and then you get the full effect of looking through the jungle part of the garden where you've got large bamboos and tree ferns.
01:33 And you move down a winding path past a jungle hut to your right and a large giant rhubarb to your left.
01:51 Then we go over a bridge where we've got the pond and stream and waterfall.
02:05 And then it opens up into a bit more of an arid drier area with cacti and yuccas and then that then turns into again a more jungle area with large bamboos at the end of the garden.
02:28 We really love being out in the garden all around the year but especially in the summer months where we can sit in the jungle hut and enjoy being out surrounded by lots of exotic looking plants and just relaxing in a space which is basically like feeling like you're on holiday.
02:49 The children love it, they love playing hide and seek and running around the garden and then myself and my wife love to just relax when we can on an evening.
