00:00 You're my surrogate family?
00:02 If it's any consolation, I'm not happy about it either. Good night.
00:05 Welcome to MizMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the top 10 Leonard and Sheldon moments.
00:11 He's also loyal and trustworthy. We have fun together.
00:15 For this list, we'll be looking at the funniest, sweetest, and most entertaining times that,
00:20 underneath it all, Leonard and Sheldon really were BFFs.
00:24 Number 10. Working Together
00:27 While Leonard often complains that living with Sheldon can be a lot,
00:30 even he can't resist collaborating with his beautiful mind.
00:34 And while he might soon regret it, we can't help but revel in the chaos as it unfolds.
00:39 Am I allowed to exchange pleasantries upon meeting this colonel?
00:42 Yes.
00:43 Am I allowed to inform him that Colonel Sanders was never actually in the military?
00:47 I'm getting enraged.
00:50 Are they always the perfect team? Obviously not.
00:53 We haven't heard of too many presentations of co-penned papers that end in brawls.
00:58 Although Howard assures us they're not all that unusual.
01:01 Is this usually how these physics things go?
01:04 More often than you think.
01:06 You're a f*cking nerf pando.
01:11 However, they had each other's back during the whole shady helium acquiring ordeal,
01:15 and their co-paper on superfluids did receive rave reviews, even from Stephen Hawking.
01:21 It's always fun to see Mr. Insightful and Mr. Innovative work together.
01:25 We're Insightful and Innovative.
01:27 Nice to meet you, Mr. Insightful.
01:29 The pleasure is mine, Mr. Innovative.
01:31 Number 9. Saying goodbye at the train station.
01:34 We all know that Sheldon's strongly averse to change,
01:37 and unfortunately for Sheldon, in this episode, those changes just kept on coming.
01:41 So he does the only rational thing he can think of, get on a train and leave Pasadena.
01:47 Luckily, Leonard tracks him down before he takes off and tries to convince him to come home.
01:52 What can I do?
01:53 Leonard, I am overwhelmed.
01:55 Everything is changing and it's simply too much.
01:58 I need to get away and think.
02:00 When even a trip to Legoland can't win him over,
02:03 Leonard, with some convincing from Penny, realises he has to let his friend go.
02:07 Sheldon, if you really need to do this, I'm not going to stand in your way.
02:10 I do.
02:12 Okay.
02:16 Good luck.
02:17 It's a sweet moment between the duo showing how much Leonard loves and cares for his buddy,
02:21 and Sheldon does his part by making their farewells that much easier.
02:25 I'm going to miss you.
02:26 Of course you are.
02:29 I just made that easier.
02:33 Number 8. Standing up for each other.
02:36 While Sheldon can often be the biggest jerk in Leonard's life,
02:39 he certainly won't stand for anyone else picking on his little buddy.
02:42 Leonard, I platonically love you, man, but face it, you're a mess.
02:46 How many friends would join a quest to retrieve their new neighbour's TV,
02:49 and be so understanding when they leave without the television and their pants?
02:53 Sheldon, I am so sorry I dragged you through this.
02:56 It's okay. It wasn't my first pant thing and it won't be my last.
03:00 Or have their friends back when they're in a stand-off with a guy twice their size.
03:04 You're one lucky little leprechaun.
03:06 He's a hobbit!
03:09 I got your back.
03:11 And would they stand by you if an unpleasant blast from the past sauntered back into your life?
03:16 Leonard's there for Sheldon, too. Well, he tries to be.
03:19 I can't believe we're going all the way to San Diego to confront this guy.
03:23 Yeah, we're kind of badasses, aren't we?
03:25 Totally!
03:26 Would you be willing to drive out on a rescue mission to save your friend's battle ostrich?
03:31 Number 7. Being best men.
03:34 And weird other husband who came with the apartment.
03:37 Since Leonard and Penny eloped, they didn't exactly need a best man.
03:41 However, that didn't stop Sheldon from getting in there at their second wedding.
03:45 I now pronounce you husband and wife.
03:47 And weird other husband who came with the apartment.
03:51 Meanwhile, Sheldon puts his friends through a series of tasks before ultimately choosing Leonard as his best man.
03:57 And when the big day arrived, the pair shared a touching moment that made us both happy, cry, and cry with laughter.
04:03 Their heart-to-heart encapsulates everything we love about their friendship.
04:07 After today, you are officially, and more important legally, Amy's problem.
04:12 Don't be silly, Leonard. I will always be your problem.
04:18 And it's so great that Leonard could be there for one of the most significant moments of Sheldon's life.
04:23 What are you guys doing?
04:24 Super asymmetry.
04:26 Super asymmetry? Is that a thing?
04:28 We're inventing it right now.
04:30 Don't you think this can wait until...
04:33 Oh, this is interesting.
04:35 Oh, and watch him get married, of course.
04:38 Number six, Leonard signs out of the roommate agreement.
04:42 After one emergency drill night too many, Leonard's had enough and opts out of the roommate agreement, thereby nullifying its friendship clauses.
04:50 That's it. We are now no longer companions, boon or otherwise.
04:54 We are now merely acquaintances.
04:56 You amend the words of Toy Story. You have not got a friend in me.
04:59 While Leonard enjoys his newfound freedom, Sheldon realizes just how much he relies on his roommate.
05:05 Heck, he even misses his companionship.
05:07 And what won't he do to try and win him back?
05:10 We know Sheldon can be pretty insufferable, but unlike that marshmallow, he sure made our hearts melt.
05:16 Listen, Sheldon, this is stupid. I don't see why we can't be friends.
05:19 And I'm willing to drive you around and help you out with stuff.
05:22 I just don't want to do it because of some silly roommate agreement.
05:25 We guess we'll never know who caused the power outage, but at least they helped rekindle this friendship and founded Leonard's Day.
05:32 Who do you think did that, Sheldon?
05:34 Oh, I don't know.
05:36 But whoever that mystery man was, you should be eternally grateful, for without him, there would be no Leonard's Day.
05:46 We hope Sheldon never forgot to get Leonard a card.
05:49 Number five, splitting up their stuff.
05:52 It finally happened. Sheldon's moving out.
05:54 But before we start any dance parties, first we need to get through the division of possessions.
06:00 And if we know Sheldon, that won't be any picnic.
06:03 These items represent our shared times together.
06:05 Well, now they're yours.
06:06 Leonard.
06:07 You know what's going to happen. He's just going to come up with some reason why everything should be his.
06:11 For a man so good at predicting my moves, how can you stink at 3D chess?
06:15 Indeed, to no one's surprise, Sheldon wants pretty much everything, but Leonard's not taking it lying down.
06:20 Their feud escalates with Sheldon changing the Wi-Fi password, Leonard getting all snug in the apartment's flag,
06:27 and Sheldon inviting a stranger to sublet his room.
06:30 Sheldon, get out here!
06:32 Will you keep it down?
06:35 What kind of vengeful bed and breakfast do you think I'm running?
06:37 Understandably, that last one is the final straw, leading to a heated argument.
06:42 But sometimes it takes a stranger to unmask the real feelings hiding underneath all that anger and vengeance.
06:48 You're in a new phase of your lives, and it's easier to fight than to face the feelings that you have for one another.
06:58 Number four, the start of a beautifully wacky friendship.
07:01 This episode answers the questions many Big Bang fans have been wondering.
07:06 How did Sheldon and Leonard wind up living together?
07:08 Why did Leonard stay?
07:10 And what happened to the elevator?
07:12 Despite numerous warnings, Leonard goes ahead and signs the roommate agreement.
07:16 If either of us ever invents time travel, we agree our first stop will be this meeting today in precisely five seconds.
07:23 Okay.
07:27 And yeah, Sheldon can be so infuriating.
07:29 But perhaps a roommate with better social skills wouldn't have, albeit unintentionally, saved Leonard from serving time.
07:36 Luckily, Sheldon drove her out before I revealed anything important, which I'm not saying I would have.
07:43 So that's it? You stay with Sheldon all this time because he kept you from going to federal prison?
07:48 He also has the foresight to rescue Leonard and co. when their experiment goes wrong.
07:52 Look, they've just met.
07:54 Anyone else might have ratted Leonard out.
07:56 Instead, Sheldon proves that he's Leonard's ride or die, and we see the beginnings of a beautiful, if somewhat unhinged, friendship.
08:03 Not only did Sheldon save my life, he didn't rat me out to the landlord.
08:06 Or the police. Or Homeland Security.
08:09 Number three, misadventures on Skywalker Ranch.
08:12 On their way to give a lecture, Leonard and Sheldon stop by Skywalker Ranch with hopes of getting in.
08:18 I don't think George Lucas put his headquarters in the middle of nowhere because he wanted people dropping in.
08:22 Yoda's swamp was in the middle of nowhere?
08:26 While the answer is no, the nice security guard offers them souvenirs instead.
08:30 It's a generous offer, but not enough for Sheldon.
08:33 Don't move. Code AA-23. AA-23.
08:36 Copy.
08:38 I can see the ranch, Leonard. Oh, it's rustic. It's lovely.
08:42 I'd take a picture, but people are chasing me.
08:45 I'm gonna make it. I'm gonna make it.
08:49 They have tasers. They wouldn't dare use...
08:52 We almost weren't surprised when, thanks to Sheldon, they ended up getting detained.
08:58 Luckily, they're let off with a warning.
09:00 But Leonard's still pretty mad.
09:02 That is, until Sheldon puts a glass half-full spin on the day's proceedings.
09:06 Not only did we go to Skywalker Ranch, we got in. And no one we know can say that.
09:11 And, for all the times you find me irritating, today you got to watch someone shoot me with a taser.
09:18 With that in mind, they agree that actually, it had been a pretty cool day.
09:22 Say what you will about Sheldon, but he certainly knows how to have some unique adventures.
09:27 I guess this could count as an adventure.
09:29 It was. And even though we're not allowed back there, they can never take today away from us.
09:35 Number two. Sheldon thinks he knows best.
09:39 Sheldon freaks out when Leonard announces he's having minor surgery.
09:43 He spends the episode trying to talk him out of it with horror stories and constant reminders of the worst that can happen.
09:48 One shaky scalpel away from becoming the Dancing Fountain at Disneyland.
09:52 Sheldon, do you realize that driving is riskier than surgery?
09:56 I do. I have the drive to the hospital right here.
09:59 And as annoying as that sounds, we could read between the lines.
10:02 He's actually super worried about his buddy, and it's kind of adorable.
10:06 Leonard tries to get the surgery without Sheldon knowing, but nothing gets past Sheldon Cooper.
10:11 Obviously I care about Leonard. I'm going to spend the rest of my life with him.
10:14 And I'm not?
10:16 When a small tremor causes a power outage, Sheldon is beside himself.
10:19 I need to see he's okay.
10:21 Sheldon, you can't go back there.
10:23 Try and stop me.
10:25 Are you okay?
10:29 Why didn't you stop me?
10:31 We've heard of sympathy pain, but he really took that to the next level.
10:35 Even if Sheldon doesn't admit it, everyone knows how much he loves Leonard.
10:39 I was not panicked, and I'm not overly attached to Leonard.
10:43 You were so worried that he'd smash your face trying to check on me. You love me.
10:48 Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
10:51 Sheldon covers for Leonard.
10:53 Sheldon hates to lie, but he'll do it for his buddy, whether he wants it or not.
10:58 Maggie McGarry.
11:00 You met her at Pasadena's most popular Irish watering hole, Lucky Baldwin's,
11:05 where Maggie spends her nights tending bar with a head full of curls and a heart full of dreams.
11:10 Sheldon wishes Leonard the best.
11:12 After much introspective work, Sheldon finds it in him to be happy for his pal.
11:16 I couldn't be happier for him.
11:19 Thank you, Sheldon. That must have been very hard for you to say.
11:25 Well, I mean it. I'm really happy for you.
11:28 A Nobel shout-out. Sheldon gives Leonard the acknowledgement he deserved.
11:32 We were balling.
11:34 My two dearest friends in the world, Penny Hofstadter.
11:40 And Dr. Leonard Hofstadter.
11:47 Finding comfort in friendship.
11:51 Sheldon's not much of a hugger, so this really is a testament to their bond.
11:56 You know that Arthur's son is a high school son?
11:59 Ball pit bazinga.
12:02 Are you even BFFs if one of you isn't willing to chase the other one around a ball pit in the middle of the night?
12:07 Bazinga.
12:09 Bazinga.
12:12 Bazinga.

12:30 Number 1. Leonard and Sheldon aren't ready to give up roomie status.
12:35 As we've already mentioned, Sheldon isn't a fan of change.
12:38 We know this is a sensitive subject and Leonard's not going to move out until you're ready.
12:43 Well, what if you did it gradually?
12:46 Alright.
12:49 And while he and Leonard often butt heads over their living arrangement, he certainly can't imagine life any other way.
12:54 While sitting in a clothing store with no cell reception, the roommates reflect on their time together.
12:59 I'm sorry, you make compromises for me?
13:03 All the time.
13:06 On Earth.
13:08 They get pretty riled up talking about the compromises they've made for each other.
13:12 But of course, under all their grievances, there's a lot of love.
13:15 And they weren't the only ones reaching out for tissues.
13:18 I'm aware of how difficult I can be, so I just want to say...
13:22 Thank you for putting up with me.
13:25 Buddy.
13:27 Each realizes how the other has positively impacted their life and how they'll always be there for each other.
13:33 Now excuse us while we go hug our best friends.
13:35 We really are the best.
