00:00 Sometimes you can go the extra mile geographically to get here and sometimes you go the extra mile logistically just to stay in the competition.
00:08 And sometimes things just don't work out the way you would like.
00:11 Every year we get a guy or two sometimes or more who come in who've just got really nicely built rigs, really well engineered, really well put together.
00:20 And for some reason it just seems as though the four bygods have just gotten in form during the week.
00:26 Anything that can go wrong can go wrong, everything that breaks can break.
00:30 It does no matter how built and bulletproofed it is.
00:33 And to honor that, you know, the unlucky ones among us, we've all been in that same boat.
00:40 We have a little award we hand out called the Hard Luck Award.
00:44 It was a tough competition this year because there were some guys who all had to really battle adversity.
00:48 But we had one team in particular who just managed to fight through it. They had to basically swap in a transfer case on site.
00:57 And we wanted to give a shout out to the Advance Adapters guys. They were really great about that.
01:01 These guys were up in the drive up to Nopitas, which is on the far side of the moon.
01:07 They were up to one o'clock in the morning the other night trying to basically fix their steering.
01:11 They didn't get it fixed. They came back here in the morning.
01:13 They put together some spit and shoe polish solution that actually worked.
01:17 They got through the tank trap. It was a long, sleepless week for these guys, I'm sure.
01:22 But Corey Timpson, the YG, Hard Luck, a little illusion, he's got it all up.
01:37 Good with speeches. First things just getting here, all the sponsors, AMSOIL, Mickey Thompson, PSC,
01:47 God, I'm sure I'm going to miss stuff.
01:50 Anyways, everybody that got us here, my group here, a great bunch of guys. It took us a long time to get here.
01:56 But we worked hard. It was tough.
02:01 But I do want to thank Phil, he's the water truck driver again. He was at his place at one o'clock one morning.
02:07 And again, Matthew from Advanced Factors with the Atlas case.
02:14 It was literally a nine-hour period and they got me a whole new case.
02:18 And it wasn't the case that came out of it. So it was drive shafts bolted up. They did a great job.
02:23 But other than that, my crew, that was the best. They worked hard.
02:27 And again, my wife, too. She puts up a lot.
02:31 [APPLAUSE]
