00:00 Hey everybody, I'm here at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show under the white hot lights of the
00:13 Audi booth.
00:14 Now, Audi has brought a lot of big horsepower players here to the LA show, highlighted by
00:19 this one.
00:20 This is the new R8 GT Spider.
00:22 So it's a lot like the hardtop Spider, except that it doesn't have those four point harnesses,
00:28 it doesn't have the halfy roll cage, but it does have the mid-mounted 560 horsepower V10.
00:34 Perhaps more interesting is what Audi has done to their big sedans.
00:37 Let's go have a look.
00:40 Audi has brought three performance sedans here to Los Angeles.
00:42 We have the S6, the S7, and the S8.
00:45 Now the big news is the new 4 liter twin turbo, twin scroll V8.
00:50 For the S6 and the S7, they're the same.
00:52 They make 420 horsepower and 406 pound feet of torque.
00:56 And the big boy S8, you're talking 520 horsepower and a pretty huge 479 pound feet of torque.
01:03 When Audi launched the A6 and A7, we were disappointed because the American spec cars
01:08 weren't getting the same goodies that the Euro spec versions were.
01:12 For instance, there was no torque vectoring rear end, there was no air suspension, there
01:16 was no seven speed dual clutch transmission.
01:18 Well guess what?
01:19 The A6 and the A7, they now have them.
01:22 But even without all those performance parts, the A6 and the A7 turned into some surprisingly
01:26 good numbers.
01:27 Especially the A7, and it was a really good car to drive.
01:31 Now however, you add the twin turbo V8s to all the go fast stuff, and you're talking
01:35 about some pretty serious performance sedans.
01:38 And the S8's going to be a whole different story.
01:41 These are three cars we cannot wait to drive.
01:43 (laughing)
