00:34 I'm driving the Emmanuel Design Audi A4, it's a 2017 model.
00:39 A couple little modifications on it, nothing major, still a very street car,
00:42 but it's a lot of fun.

00:51 As far as the competition goes, it's two liter turbos, so
00:54 everybody's gotta abide by that.
00:56 But outside of that, we're seeing a wide mixture of cars,
00:58 everything from street driven cars to cars that used to be race cars that are now
01:03 street cars, so there's a pretty big difference in the style of vehicles
01:08 that are out here.

01:11 >> I'm driving a GTI for auto union tuning.
01:15 It has a very large turbo.

01:19 Just some H&R coilovers, and that's pretty much it,
01:23 otherwise it's basically pretty stock.
01:27 >> Actually a couple weeks ago, it was a completely gutted six point roll cage
01:31 welded in, no interior race seat, GTIX, so it was a full race car.
01:35 For this event, we cut the roll cage out of it,
01:37 we put the back interior back in the car.
01:40 We're currently running the Revo TTR stage four kit on the car,
01:44 which is estimated to make about 450 horsepower.

02:03 It's mostly a stock car, we've got a bunch of different bolt-ons that we've got.
02:07 Our new spring package that we're working on, our front and rear sway bars.
02:11 We've got a turbo kit that's under development that's working out pretty well
02:15 for us, a couple of exhaust modifications.
02:17 And all that works together to really tighten up the ride of the car,
02:21 make it feel really sharp, and it's working really well for us today.
02:24 Our expectations today were really to come out and, first of all,
02:29 test all of these different pieces together on the car.
02:31 It's the first time we've had our entire product line for the Audi S3 on the car.
02:37 And so far, it's running really well.
02:40 I think it's above and beyond our expectations.

02:48 We've got H&R Coat-over RSS suspension on it, turbo-back exhaust,
02:53 some new speed RS wheels, lightweight wheels, and best of all,
02:58 the Continental tires.
03:00 They seem to be doing much better than previous versions of the Continental, and
03:04 I can tell they're not chunking or getting beat up as hard as previous years.
03:09 So far, so good.

03:20 This is the World Motorsports wind tunnel dyno.

03:29 We're about to strap some of these cars to the dyno to see what they can do power-wise.
03:34 This will do the air speed and
03:36 the air volume that your car is actually seeing on the road.
03:39 We brought our 2015 Audi S3.
03:42 The concept for our entry is that you could get RS3 performance out of your S3
03:47 with a minimal expense.

03:59 We're really excited the car did so well.
04:16 I think it took us a little bit by surprise that the car outperformed some
04:21 of the cars that are significantly more modified than what we had out there.
04:25 So pretty stoked at the way everything turned out.

04:35 I think we're second overall right now to the pro driver in the field, so
04:38 pretty happy where we're at.
04:40 Tires are actually pretty good, a lot better than I expected them to do for
04:43 a street tire.
04:44 Really predictable tire.
04:46 Suspension for this track probably wasn't what we wanted, but
04:49 the tire did a really good job today.

04:55 The tires are doing pretty good today.
04:57 I'm driving a 2009 Audi TT.
04:59 It's got a four-point roll cage, KO4, stage three software, stage two DSG
05:03 software, Haldex upgrade, some height adjustable springs from MSS kits.
05:08 I normally run less aggressive sidewall, but I'm pretty happy with the tire.
05:12 It's scrubbing really well though on the bowl, they call it.
05:16 It's a really tight corner and they're holding up pretty well for a street
05:19 tire.
05:20 I'm really impressed.

05:29 Today we're running the Continental Extreme Contact Sport street tire.
05:32 It's actually doing really well on the race track.
05:34 It's very predictable.
05:36 It's dealing with the punishment that we're giving it.
05:38 It's a fun tire for the track, I like it.
05:40 A lot of this track is pretty tight and technical with off-camber corners and
05:44 some pretty good banking in some of the corners.
05:47 That chicane halfway through the track is really fast.
05:50 It's blind, you can't really see.
05:52 And you come through there at the top of fifth gear, you're really hauling ass.
05:56 Then you just got to gather it up and slow it down for that tight left-hander
05:59 at the end.

06:04 I do like the track.
06:06 It's tough on brakes and tires.
06:09 The wind is not good.
06:11 The wind's already slowing us down in certain areas, but temperature is good
06:15 outside.
06:16 It's cool.
06:17 Most cars being turbo, the cool temperature really helps the power.

06:23 We're doing pretty good today compared to what we did a couple weeks ago, but
06:26 there's definitely a big difference between a slick and a street tire.
06:29 Compared to other street tires we've ran on the car, a lot of times they've been
06:32 pretty consistent.
06:33 So progressively through the day we've gotten a little bit faster, but we've had
06:36 pretty good success with them today.
06:38 So I think they're holding up pretty well.

06:44 Well, I'd like to be in top three if I can.
06:46 You just never know.
06:47 Some people really try super hard, come out with a lot of horsepower, and it
06:50 makes it tough to really be first place.
06:53 But still try your best and just wait until the dust settles at the end of the
06:58 day and see how it goes.
07:01 Competition has been pretty good.
07:03 We're currently in the lead by a little bit less than a second.
07:06 So we're keeping our eyes on all of our competitors.
07:10 But for now it looks like we're in a good position.
07:12 So we'll be out there and hopefully improve on our lap time.

07:21 I'm not a professional driver by any means.
07:23 I track on the weekends maybe three times a year.
07:26 There's a lot of professional drivers out here.
07:28 And, I mean, I'm only two seconds off of the best people in the group of mine,
07:32 so I feel like I'm pretty confident.
07:35 There's a lot of great cars, great drivers out there today.
07:39 Just wanted to finish better than last year.
07:41 I think I can go a little bit faster, running a 1.29 here at Streets of Lolo.
07:46 So compared to the rest of the field, I'm going to need a few more seconds to
07:52 be on the podium.

08:00 As far as Euro cars go, it's a lot of people's entry-level car.
08:06 If you fall in love with the car community and the passion of the car
08:09 community, this is kind of where you start.
08:11 And then from there, the list of modifications just goes through the roof.
08:15 So there's a lot that you can do to make it personal to you.
08:17 I can get into a car that's not necessarily the fastest, but over time I
08:21 can develop it to make it pretty quick and get it to do whatever I want it to
08:25 do, whether it's drag racing or road course or just daily driving and making
08:28 it look cool.

08:34 Always had a Viking in high school for the GWs and Jettas and things like that.
08:38 And then when I wanted something more performance-oriented, the TT just struck
08:41 me and I bought it.
08:43 The event was great.
08:44 I mean, if you guys do another one, I'd love to come out if my car applies.
08:46 Last year it was VW Golf only.
08:48 But, yeah, it was awesome and I'd love to come back.
