The families of the two people killed on the M53 on Friday have issued their tributes. Jessica Baker has been described as a warm hearted, wonderful daughter, while Driver Steven Shrimpton's family said he was a caring and thoughtful man. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.

A woman in Hoylake has died following a road traffic collision. Officers were called to Birkenhead Road at its junction with Lee Road just after 1:45pm on Saturday. Despite the best efforts of the emergency services the 72-year-old woman sadly died at the scene.

And finally, the warm weather is set to return this weekend, as temperatures of up to twenty two degrees have been forecast. And Throughout the latter half of October, it is predicted that temperatures will be higher than average for this time of year.
