A 15-year-old girl was stabbed to death in Croydon on the morning of September 27.
Chief Superintendent Andy Brittain, in charge of local policing, said the Met's "immediate thoughts are with this young girl’s family who are facing the most tragic of news".
Footage online showed a number of emergency vehicles, including the London Ambulance Service, in attendance.
