Air ambulance transports injured woman to hospital

A woman has been flown to hospital after a reported stabbing in Anglesea Road, Woolwich, south-east London.

Video shows the air ambulance taking off this morning (September 10) from the scene carrying the injured woman.

An image of the man sought by Metropolitan Police has been released. He is Peter Morley, aged 35, and should not be approached by members of the public, police said.

In a statement, Metropolitan Police said that they were called at around 9:30am to reports of a stabbing at Anglesea Road, SE18.

"Officers attended. At the scene a woman, believed in her 30s, was found suffering from a number of stab wounds to her back," the statement said.

"The injured woman was taken by London's Air Ambulance [HEMS] to a central London hospital. We await an update on her condition but at this early stage do not believe that her injuries will be deemed life-threatening.

"Officers from Greenwich are on scene and a crime scene and road closures are in place. The suspect was known to the victim.

"At this early stage there has been no arrest."
