'Honour' to represent Bendigo: Jacinta Allan becomes Victoria's youngest female premier

Jacinta Allan will replace Daniel Andrews as Victorian premier, becoming just the second female premier in Victoria after Joan Kirner who served from 1990 to 1992.

00:07 regional Victoria, I never expected to have this length of service or indeed to be able

00:13 to have had the honour and privilege of serving the Victorian community in various ministerial

00:19 roles under premiers, strong, decisive premiers of Steve Brax, John Brumby and more recently

00:27 Daniel Andrews and then to in turn have the support, unanimous support today from my parliamentary

00:33 colleagues is indeed also a deep privilege and one that I pledge to continue to work

00:39 incredibly hard as I have done each and every day. I have had the honour to represent my

00:45 community of Bendigo East, the community where I live, the community that I represent, the

00:50 community where my husband and I are raising our two beautiful, wonderful children.
