Qantas is bracing for a costly compensation settlement for workers it unlawfully sacked during the pandemic. The high court has upheld the federal court's finding that Qantas acted illegally when it sacked 17-hundred baggage handlers and cleaners during the COVID-19 pandemic. The jobs at 10 airports were outsourced as the airline faced a decline in business.
