Police investigate drive-by shooting in Melbourne’s Craigieburn

Police are investigating a drive-by shooting in Melbourne's north, early this morning.

00:00 We're in Craigieburn in Melbourne's north and it's still very much so an early investigation.

00:07 Let me just show you some of this scene here.

00:09 That drive-by shooting, they fired at least 10 bullets into that front window.

00:13 I've spotted at least one bullet into the front door and that right window as well.

00:18 There's at least two bullets there.

00:20 Police tell us that there was a man and woman inside just after midnight when these people

00:25 opened fire on this suburban Melbourne home.

00:28 Police tell us that that couple in their 50s were actually innocent.

00:32 Police are investigating whether the gunmen were targeting those who previously lived

00:37 in this home.

00:39 Now police have also found a burnt out car nearby as well and at this stage they're investigating

00:44 possible links.

00:45 Neighbours who I've spoken to this morning say they heard gunshots just after midnight.

00:50 They say that this is usually a quiet suburban neighbourhood and they haven't seen or heard

00:55 anything like this previously.
