00:00 We will update on the election-related incidents with police. Colonel Gene Fajardo, acting chief of the Public Information Office of the Philippine National Police. Good afternoon Colonel Fajardo.
00:13 Good afternoon sir Aljo.
00:16 Yes ma'am. Attorney, according to the report, there were 22 suspected election incidents.
00:26 How many of these were verified to have something to do with BSKE, the upcoming election for the Korean people?
00:35 What are the details of this ma'am?
00:37 That's right sir Aljo. As of 8 a.m. yesterday, we have 22 incidents.
00:45 Of those, 11 are suspected election-related incidents and 11 are validated non-election-related incidents, while two cases are validated election-related incidents.
00:58 All right. How are your relations with Comelec, Colonel?
01:03 As of the two incidents, have you verified them as election-related?
01:08 That's right sir. In the two validated election-related incidents, particularly in Region 5 and Bagsabong Autonomous Region,
01:18 the regional peace security and coordinating centers convened.
01:24 Based on the recommendation of the member of RPSJC, they are recommending these places to be placed under the red category,
01:37 where the Comelec can declare its own motor property under Comelec control in the areas mentioned.
01:44 How many areas of concern of the PNP are in the red category or have history of election-related incidents?
01:55 Sir in our areas of concern, the first reported 27 areas of grave concerns are still on our list, although it's not finalized yet.
02:13 We are still waiting for the final determination of Comelec. If these 27 areas are in the red category, it will be confirmed and Comelec will decide if it will be added or reduced.
02:30 How is the deployment of our police in areas of concern? Are our police in those areas enough, ma'am, attorney?
02:40 Sir in Malahabang and Lalao ng Luzon, we are recommending to add our security personnel there.
02:50 We are also thankful to our counterpart in the Armed Forces of the Philippines because they provided the necessary personnel.
02:58 In the areas where we are monitoring intense political rivalries, we are ensuring that we have enough personnel there to ensure that while the election period is still ongoing,
03:13 we can ensure that no country will escalate and disrupt the upcoming elections in October.
03:21 Yes. On the other hand, Colonel, what are the BNP's plans for the ongoing incidents of terrorism that may have an impact on the upcoming elections?
03:34 Sir Aljo, in the areas where we have security concerns, we are intensifying the addition of our Comelec checkpoints,
03:46 border patrols and of course, our police visibility in the areas of engagement.
03:55 In the areas where there are ongoing incidents, we are ensuring that we have enough personnel to ensure our police presence and visibility.
04:06 We will sustain until the election period is over.
04:10 All right. What is the punishment for those who will fight in the election period, ma'am?
04:17 For those who will be arrested for violation of the gun ban, there is a severe punishment, not only for violation of 10591,
04:28 where there is a punishment that is not less than six years. They may also be exempted from administrative sanctions,
04:36 they will not be given the privilege of owning and safeguarding firearms, and their registrations will be revoked.
04:48 So for those gun holders who are still not renewing their licenses, you still have time to renew your expired licenses of your guns.
04:59 All right. Do you have any other reminders, Omensay ma'am, especially to the candidates and supporters here? Go ahead Chernie.
05:09 Thank you very much for the invitation. Again, we are reminding our candidates to remember our Comelec, particularly in the pre-mansure campaigning.
05:21 I hope we will follow this and to our countrymen who are monitoring, observing and witnessing violations,
05:33 please inform the nearest police station and ask them to respond to your police.
05:40 Of course, with the help and guidance of our Comelec, who has primary authority with respect to enforcement of our election laws.
05:51 Thank you very much Police Colonel Jim Fajardo, acting chief of the Public Information Office of the PNP.
